Now starting with the forward hull section. This one wil llater host the hangar/storages for the ground vehicles.

Using the original Intrepid hull, but cut off the backward part.

The starboard hull opening will later provide access to the ramp.

And now the backward part of the hull.
Here, the hangar for the helicopters will be located.

I just hope that I measured it correctly when cutting off those sections....

@Rick Lowe Thanks, I will have to try this, lets see if it can be printed in 1/700.

The forward hull section is now added to the underwater part of the mobile base:

Plan is to add some hangar sections inside on those places where you can look into the mobile base.

The other option, is that it's small enough to scratchbuild using layered card and slices of runner for the wheels.

Reposting my progress which was lost becasue of the DB restore:

Second half of the hull added, there is a little gap now, but nothing some plastic sheets and putty cannot fix.

Made a little error when putting together both underwater parts, the model is bend a bit. So this has to be adjusted with the flight deck. Taking about it, a first testprint for it. Size is ok, but shape has to be corrected.

Extending the flight deck a bit, adding some space for the island structure.
If you male a closer look you see that the flight deck is getting thicker towards the stern, this is because of the slightly bended structure of the hull :(

Btw, the golden "color" on the print is the build plate of my printer which stars to disassmble itself. Don't know why this happend, but i have to look for an replacement now.

I should have thought of finding the actual dimensions the first time...

1/700 scale
L: 24.3mm
W: 8.7 mm
H: 7 mm
Tyres: 4.3 mm diameter

So pretty easy to build from sheet & slices of runner.
And it'd probably be better detailed than a print.

Some more progress:

An updated version of the flight deck which fits better to the hull form

The forward hangar, Snowtractors and Snow Cruiser will be stored here. I am now printing some Snow Crusier, but it is still running.

A first very quit and dirty print of a modifed Essec class island. Have to see if I will go with this one. This is just a test for checking the dimensions.

Well, printing of the various parts did non really succeed, have to see what can be rescued from it. At least the Snow Crusiers seem to be ok.

But at least the work on the hull continues, the backward helicoper hangar is under construction now.

As this is an Amphibious Mobile base, it will not only have snowtractors and Crusiers, but also some support shits. They will be placed on the platform besides the hangar.

The mind boggles at what a 'Support poo-poo' would look like or be useful for...  :o  :o

Sorry, not meaning to be (too) smart, it just tickled my funny bone. Probably helped by the fact I'm only 2 days away from having 2 weeks off...   ;D

Interesting... the computer changed 'sh!t' for 'poo-poo'...
