ប្រចៀវព្រៃ    brachiev prei – Wild Bat.  From the worlds of My Sky the Free Winds – A Dieselpunk Anime from Studio zenrat.

Meanwhile, in the East great powers, their perceived right to rule anchored in the dim mists of antiquity by their longevity, belligerence, bloody-minded persistence, and bile were stirring and twitching like a sleeping beast being irritated out its stupor by fleas, gnats and nits, and the itches, tickles, and sores, that come from oppressing too long upon an earth that their somnolent tossings and thrashings had turned from a cradle of privilege to a rocky bed of grit and shards.

From the fortress city of Angkor Wat deep within the jungle heartland of the Khmer Hydraulic Empire the Wild Bats flock out to defend against the edacious hordes of the Lavo Vagabondracy.  Taking to the air from runways threaded between the buttress roots of the soaring Amygdalina Giganteum the congregation swoops through the cathedral spaces under the two, three, four, sometimes even five hundred metre canopy twisting and turning, and weaving between the magnificent mottled trunks.  Dodging the trailing runners of bark shed by the great trees they burst out into the hazy sunlight filtering through the smoke of burning villages before spiralling up into the sky in one coherent throng.

Pausing for a finely shaved instant at the apogee of their soar, the Wild Bats stream down in a cascade of defence spitting defiance at the Lavo forces encroaching across the irrigated patchwork plains which spread from the great forests backing them to half the horizons and the unseen seas ahead.  Focussing their spite at the bottlenecking bridges and canalising causeways they hurl down the judgement of the gods in the form of rockets and missiles and bullets and shells leaving behind them a shredded shrapnel of blood, bodies and immolated armour.

Some will fall to the guns of the attackers.  It is inevitable for a price must be paid.  Their crews will have come to a sublime warriors end and will not go unrewarded.  Those who are not yet chosen will live on to fight again and they will return, reload, refuel and then return again and again to the fight, for the Wild Bats will not rest until the despised Lavo are driven back into the sea from whence they crawled.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thanks Chris.

What really impressed me was that I could cut and paste the Cambodian alphabet characters.

Steel Penguin

good looking model, and a wild back story   :o
reads a little similarly to some of the Michael Moorcock "warlord of the air" books,, in the best way.

Fabulous build Fred, and a LEGENDARY backstory!  ;D

Have you exhausted your monthly ration of adjectives now?  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit
