Time I bashed some kits together instead of just "building aircraft models with...spurious colour schemes, which would be boring" © Spit Knackma 2025.  ;D

I intend to combine these two models.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Hmmm!? nteresting!

Wondering which direction this is going to go ... And whether we'll see the inverse Aphawk/Apahawk/Apachawk??

I have thoughts of two aircraft.  One fixed wing, one rotary.

I started assembling the cockpit of the first one today.  This will be a Grughes Mopache twin turboprop COIN aircraft.  3 crew - pilot and two gunners.  Photo as soon as I dummy something up.

The second will be a Humman Ape-Hawk (a breed of raptor feeding on small simians.  Like a Monkey Eating Eagle only smaller).  A helicoptor of currently unknown specification.

I can see a certain gentleman of the western border marches of England having words to say about wings with you, Fred.  ;)  ;D

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Yeah, I was envisioning it as more of a forward fuselage swap than a whole fuselage swap, but it's Fred's build & he'll build it his way.  ;)  ;D

Interesting, nice. Already curious about the landing gear!

Possibly have the outer two.  But it depends on how it looks when I match eveything up.

The thought of the PSR required to blend the straight edge inverted Tee shaped Apache nose into the oval Mohawk fuselage makes me shudder.

Tail dragger.  Mohawk main gear and Apache tail wheel.  There is no room in the nose for a nose wheel bay and anyway I want to keep the gun.

Today I painted the interior green bits and adjusted the mid upper turret (from something Italeri - possibly a B-25) so the glazing and a gunner will fit.
I also glued the wingtips on - Hasegawa Mohawks have separate wingtips to allow for the different length wings as the B...

...has longer wings than the A.  These are A wings.
But this is a B, and when I built it (10 years ago!) I used the fact it had separate wingtips to extend them further.
