I must be mad even thinking about this, but I still might get that Hobbyboss 1/350 HMS Lord Clive monitor with the MONSTER gun on the stern.

Not at I'll build it like that of course.  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Will probably do the drop off/pick up from the group stand around lunchtime on Saturday when the crowd thins a little bit if that's ok with you chaps?!

Fine with me, old bean.

Are you perhaps considering a tilting monitor?  Differentially filled ballast tanks to allow extra elevation/depression of the main armament.  The longer wings, in this case, are possibly extended bridge wings

I will arrive in Telford at some point on Saturday morning ,as the next link in the delivery chain of Ratty's  Manchester  III.  There might possibly be chocolate digestives and/ or  Jaffa Cakes too.

In previous years we've eaten out at the Wrekin Giant in the town centre.
This year it is CLOSED until 18th November.

So if anyone had plans for going there you need to rethink  ;D

What the heck is the website addy for Scale Model World?
Is it this or not?  https://ipmsuk.org/ipms-scale-modelworld/
I've tried a few times to click on that link and all I get is the following: "FORBIDDEN, You don't have permission to access this resource."
What gives?
Why can't people from the U.S. or other countries view the Scale Model World website?
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Seems to work for me if I set my VPN to the USA.

Both those links still say FORBIDDEN.
If this is the British gov't and their stupid cybersecurity and Internet laws that's blocking people, then they can go take a flying leap off a cliff.  :banghead:

It could be your anti-virus isn't happy or your provider's blocking it. Sometimes both take issue with the website certificates. As for the UK government's cybersecurity etc, nope, that was linked to porn and adult content which this wouldn't come under.

I noticed the Dorset Print man will be there....I wonder if he'll have some of his 1/72 Sea Darts as a separate items...

It seems you are the only one having this problem. So it must be your system or your internet provider at fault. Use a VPN and see what happens. Or, turn off your VPN as this can be the issue...

From what you wrote earlier it looks like a standard "403 Forbidden error". This means it's a case of clearing your PC of any faulty cookies etc. Plenty of websites out there explaining how.

If it is a site-specific FORBIDDEN error such as IPMS blocking you directly (like US news websites do to us with a "Content not available in your region") then you need to contact them or find a work-around.

This can happens for a couple of reasons. Most likely your web browser or service provider does not recognise the site's https security certificate, due to some hiccup in the verification service. I use a browser (Firefox) which allows me to override such failings. Less likely, it has been added to an automated blacklist used by your browser or service provider. Sites can typically get blacklisted because some spammer is spoofing its email address. The spammer soon moves on, but the entry can persist for a while, and sometimes get automatically passed on to other blacklists, until it eventually fizzles out.

Have no political fears, the UK is not China, this is a purely automation-generated hiccup.
Cheers.

It won't be the UK government's stupid new rules: they stop people from UK IP addresses looking at things on the naughty list, not people from abroad looking at UK websites.

Yes, the UK is not China. Yet...
