You can get two nights at the Mercure (under a mile away on the other side of the town centre) for £232, or £257 if you want breakfast... (oh, and £20 to park your car for 2 days as well)
Ive been using the mercure for years. Never been charged for parking before. Must be a recent change. Most likey a new parking contractor.

Interesting to see those hotel costs. I always book the Premier Inn by the Centre for the following year before I leave. (You can book PI 364 days in advance) I arrive Thursday and go home Monday, it  means I can relax a little more on trains etc.  Anyway this years prices are :-

Thursday night - £55
Friday night - £103.33
Saturday night - £127.50
Sunday night - £53.33

That includes full English breakfast.

Guess the fully booked nights

I could have got it cheaper by paying at the time of booking, but whilst I'll do that normally I don't risk it a year in advance.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I'll admit that I might have misunderstood it. There was nothing on the website, but I saw the notice in the car park when I was looking on Google Street Maps to see what the walk was like.

That's par for the course at all of them that I've looked at. I saw one at £69 and thought "aha!" but then I realised it'd somehow not picked up the dates I'd entered and it was quoting me for the 12th...

There's a place near The Wrekin (3.5 miles away) that's significantly cheaper. I'm still torn as to whether to do my usual drive down & back both days or try a hotel. I got some leg cramps on my way back from Coventry, but I think (not sure) that I can avoid that with better discipline about hydration and electrolites. On the other hand, if I come home on the Saturday night then drive down again on the Sunday, then I can stick to my diet more easily without having to "negotiate" with the hotel restaurant...

Quote from: scautomoton on September 11, 2025, 02:54:29 AMI shall be in attendance, I may try and do both days this year. I found I missed loads of stuff on the club displays previously. The question is whether to stay in Telford overnight or drive back and forth to Rugby.....

For SMW I find it's better to drive there via the M6 and M54. For the return we use the M6 Toll rather than the M6. It is a matter of personal preference but the Toll Road saves on a bucket full of stress.

Our cars will not be parked there for two days, just overnight, as we will be taking them to the show. So I hope they don't try to charge me when my car will not be parked there all day.

Well I plan to be there both days, hotel or not.

I take it the rules are the same as previous years Martin? Three models each for the table, limited setup crew allowed in on Friday, no under-the-table sales?
