Canopy and landing lights (on the front wheel strut, made form sprue material) have been masked, I hope that I can apply a revealing coat of grey primer this evening. I am a little afraid of what I will find...

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

That was my hope, as well as a not-too-modern look with the big engines and the only slightly swept wings. After all, the J31 would have been designed more or less in the same time frame as the J29, and if it rings that vibe, I've done a good job. Nose and cockpit still look very F3D-ish, but overall I think the aircraft looks plausible.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Yes, the Douglas hertitage is still very obvious, esp. through the underwing engines.

BTW, here's a look at the next/final PSR stage - looks more dramatic than it actually is, just minor dents. But the bigger, fully sculpted areas on the lower flanks and the engine nacelles turned out to be very solid. Just some more fine-tuning and then the J31 will be ready for basic painting.
