Horsepower means NOTHING to her, just are the seats heated!  ;)

The only difference is the rear seats are 2+1 instead of 1+1 in the Signum, and the larger, estate rear end, plus it has a powered tailgate, very techie!

I'm itching to drive it properly, but due to the greed-infested policies of the DVLA I can't actually tax it till Saturday, and then if I do it a Post Office, as otherwise they'd want to charge me a whole MONTH'S tax for only 3 days driving!

Their absolute GREED knows no limits and it's about time we got rid of these lunatics in the Civil Service, or call them what you will.

Yeah, I KNOW this is close to politics; but it's true.

Civil/Public Servants don't write the legislation or set the fees, Kit, that's the people who've been elected "by the people for the people" (The Government). Civil/Public Servants just act upon & within the Acts.

If you want radical change, you have to vote for radical change & get enough other people together to also vote for radical change.

Someone 'advises' the Government, mainly because 'they' know naff all about the details of such Agencies, and you can bet ideas like 'you can't transfer Road Tax from one owner to another' came from the folk who DO know the system, mainly because they invented it.

You need to watch "Yes Minister" and "Yes Prime Minister" to understand how British government works  ;)

A very senior civil servant once told me that they were a lot closer to the truth than I would have imagined, and that he for one was quite flattered by the portrayals  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Got the 'new' car all sorted paperwork wise now, thank goodness. Needs a few things done to it, but the almost new exhaust system from my old Signum will fit, so that's slated for a change over. The wheels on the old Signum are in much better shape than those on the Vectra too, despite having 50000 less miles on them. They'll likely be swapped over too.

'Extensive' test drive this afternoon.  ;D

It was pretty much like that too, as a few Audis, BMWs and Mercs found to their cost when trying to take on, as they're SO prone to doing!  :o

It's notably quicker than my Signum, and I'm starting to think the 'VXR' badge on the tailgate isn't just a 'stick-on', maybe a previous owner really did have the VXR upgrade done.

Oh it would seem our mate Kit doesn't realise he's got the fastest Vectra  ever made with a turbo V6 ,,with a top speed of over 160mph and somewhere north of 250 bhp ,,modded you can get over 300bhp easy ,,and he's surprised that he's leaving other cars behind ..so funny  ;D

Ohhhhh i bet it does  ;D  ;D
I'm chuffed ya got the smae car which isn't the same car
Been thinking about something tho .. that exhaust of your Signum won't work on the Vectra ,, there's likely a dia difference and how it bolts up to the manifold ...the Vectra's exhaust  doesn't connect to a  manifold ,,it connects to the turbo ,,there's also the Cat and where that's mounted and it's not likely it's mounted in the same place as the Signum's .
yep..i'm being always helpful  ;D

The engine-turbo et al on the Vectra is EXACTLY the same as the Signum was, the only factor may be that the tail pipes aren't quite long enough as the Vectra's body is about 7" longer, but I think my garage man can fix that for me.

Nice to be able to salvage and reuse parts - a definite 'Win'.

PR19_Kit

Just before the madness of my 'non-heart attack' the other day I'd had my 'new' Vectra into the garage where my old Signum was languishing prior to be scrapped. :(

I figured some of the Signum's bits would swap over, the wheels were MILES better than those on the Vectra for a start, and the exhaust system mentioned before could well be re-used with a small extension piece, so I had the garage do all that prior to scrapping Ziggie 2.

I'd been driving the Vectra about a little bit post the wheel change and it didn't feel 'right'. Those of you who do a lot of driving will know what I mean, the car doesn't quite do what you want it to, a tad more oversteer, a little more wheelspin perhaps, maybe it rolls a bit more than before etc. so I checked the tyre pressures as a starting point, and they were MILES out!  :o

Deeper checks proved that the garage guys had swapped the rear wheels from the Signum to the front of the Vectra and vice versa! AND they'd swapped them left to right as well, I knew that because the left rear tyre always had a slooooooow leak and needed topping up every few days.

With rear pressures recommended at 36 psi and the fronts at 42 psi, having them the wrong way round made quite a difference to the handling of course. So it was a 15 minute session with my electric tyre pump putting that all correct, and driving is a lot more predictable now.
