I've found that plain old water often works as a cyanoacrylate glue  accelerator.

True - it was originally developed as a surgical glue, so water/fluids were always meant to help it set.

Saliva is pretty quick if you are holding the lid in your mouth, and miss it.

I guess that you will be using the Airfix kit with additional parts for the Hawker Beechcraft Dragon MRA.1+.

No, I have the Matchbox HS125-600 kit in The Loft, which is a) longer and b) doesn't have the 'bump' over the canopy that the Dominie has. the -600 would make more sense as an MR aircraft, if only because it has more space inside. I'll use the U-125A's engines, and the under belly radar 'bump', and may well use the canopy as well, if I can get it to fit. Plus the long radar nose too.

Sadly the little IR sensor under the nose is long gone, but maybe I can scratch another one from a surplus missile or two.

Is it the one with Red plastic? I've heard some horror stories about trying to paint it

No, it was pale grey, and was OK to start with, but the primer I first used was total rubbish and took WEEKS to strip off, and I think that process wrecked the model eventually.

Having got home y'day I saut the M'box HS 125-600 I knew I had, and found it amazingly.

And yes, it has got RED wings!

I can live with that, nothing that a good coat of grey primer can't sort out. It's a tad longer than the U-125A that the Sword kit depicts, but it's basically the same aeroplane so all the scrapped bits I saved from the original build seem to fit OK. And that includes the rather more swept windscreen that I rather liked from the original idea. It'll need some serious plastic engineering to include all the extra bits and pieces, but it's just a matter of plodding on.

So the Dragon still lives!
