That's MAGNIFICENT! And it has a contra-prop too.  ;)  ;D

SUPERB Dave, nothing else needs be said, but I will anyway.  ;D

Your use of a Type B reggie is terrific, saves all that searching around RAF serial lists to find a sensible, and timely gap.

I just LOVE it!

Quote from: jcf on June 13, 2025, 11:52:20 AMHere's a pdf of an article from the American Aviation Historical Society Journal that some may find useful. It covers the McDonnell XF-88B and the XF-84H.
The author states that a YT54 with afterburners was never installed in the XF-84H, despite what is claimed by some. There's no evidence that a YT54, of any sort, was installed in the 'Screech. Two afterburning T40 were built and ground tested. The
afterburners increased thrust but decreased the shaft horsepower of
the engine, it would have been decreased about 1,900 - 2,000shp
on the T54.
BTW the USN was involved and a
six-bladed prop and gearbox were
designed to their requirements. It
had two sets of three-blades each
set 18 inches apart, the blades of the aft set trailed the fwd. by 15° and both sets rotated in the same
direction. This was to be tested on
a third XF-84H ordered by the USN, but it was never constructed.

Thanks Jon.  I have a feeling that gearbox may have found its way onto the F-105 Thundershriek that is gestating in my head...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Thanks Kit.  A tiny bit of research was necessary to get the B-Class reg right.

Absolutely! They're a real bitch to find info on. :(

I did that twice, for my Avro Leeds transport and for the 'proof of concept' PR19 prototype.

Much easier for Folland!

Plus.....Couldn't find a single pic of the Midge, Gnat and the 'Foghorn' together in formation 😉

That's odd, someone must have taken pics when they flew at Farnborough that year.

I was there and I can remember them clearly, just one reason why I have two hearing aids these days..........
