Here's a pdf of an article from the American Aviation Historical Society Journal that some may find useful. It covers the McDonnell XF-88B and the XF-84H.
The author states that a YT54 with afterburners was never installed in the XF-84H, despite what is claimed by some. There's no evidence that a YT54, of any sort, was installed in the 'Screech. Two afterburning T40 were built and ground tested. The
afterburners increased thrust but decreased the shaft horsepower of
the engine, it would have been decreased about 1,900 - 2,000shp
on the T54.
BTW the USN was involved and a
six-bladed prop and gearbox were
designed to their requirements. It
had two sets of three-blades each
set 18 inches apart, the blades of the aft set trailed the fwd. by 15° and both sets rotated in the same
direction. This was to be tested on
a third XF-84H ordered by the USN, but it was never constructed.

You'd need a very long and very flat strip of uninhabited land!

Anyway, a bit more blue, a shiny silver spinner, main wheels fitted, props cut to shape and a pitot fitted.

Beginning to worry I might just meet the deadline.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
