That 2nd one down's not centered very well..........................  ;)  ;D

Must be all of 0.001 mm out.

Don't feel too bad about it, you're not alone...  ;D

But you will know it's there.
Actually things like exhaust pipes that look like the opening is welded shut are pretty annoying no matter the scale or vehicle type. The other thing I can't stand is ejection seats that look like park benches. I say carry on!

Just a dab of black paint on an exhaust pipe does the job sometimes, better than the 'welded shut' option for sure.

Just thought I'd post an update. Work and my kids soccer season has been kinda crazy so taking a bit longer.  Also a little frustrated when I realized that one of the weapon sprues was missing along with the main gear struts. 🤬. Luckily I found a third party for the gear so should be here soon.

The other delay was trying to find and print some of the weapons, especially the SUU-14 dispensers. But everything's finally got a coat of paint so now on to the weathering.

Calling this one done. So this is the Hobby 2000 rebox of the Hasagawa kit A-1H Skyraider (aka Sandy). The kit came together nicely, only real issue was the missing weapons sprue and the missing main gear struts. It's a rebox, go figure. Luckily for the gear I found a mod kit. For the weapons the Mk82s LAU-30 and LAU-10 came from various weapons sets and the SUU-11 minigun and SUU-14 dispenser were 3D files I found and printed out. Finish is Mig Ammo Atom paints, Enamel wash,  and AK weathering pencils. I found a great reference site for pictures here (https://skyraider.org/imcol.htm).

This was kind of a special build for me. Growing up the guy who cut my hair from about 3rd grade on had been a USAF photographer during Vietnam. He knew I loved airplanes and would always bring in pictures he had kept for me to look at. He was attached to a SAR unit for a bit so had a bunch of pictures of A-1 Sandy's and HH-53 Jolly Green Giants. Always loved looking at all the photos. So this was for Stas.

Nice job.
Somehow a Sandy always looks a bit naked without all the ordnance.

Bit late posting but here are my builds for 2025. Not a bad year overall. Learned quite a bit (mostly unintentionally) so few more arrows in my quiver going into 2026.

- Added 2 new F-4 Phantoms (Testors F-4G and Hasagawa RF-4B).
- My Jolly Rogers collection entered the jet age with the (Hobby Boss) Panther and (Hasagawa) Cougar
- My 2 whiffs (Hasagawa F-18L and Hasagawa F/A-16E). I had really been looking forward to building these for a couple of years but was waiting till I thought my skills could do them justice.
- A Hobby 2000 Sandy for my Vietnam collection and a Dream F-5F for my USN Aggressors.

I've already go my starting line-up for 2026 so back to the bench.
