Started detail painting of the front internal cabin bulkhead (engine controls, etc.) & the radios.

OK, so, this is where I'm at;

Although it looks like I've painted the markings on the dials, I haven't, it's just reflected light.

I have some vehicle dial decals floating around somewhere &, if I can find them & any of them fit, I'll probably use them before I try painting the dials (I've not been overly successful historically).

Radios are being a little more problematic ... But I WILL prevail!  :wacko:

Looking good.   :thumbsup:

There would be music.  A trannie/cassette or 8 track player/dansette etc.
And pin ups.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Nice to know.  :thumbsup:

I'm trying to use a British Larkspur radio - may need to change tack.

If you leave the VRC-46s (honestly, I can't remember if the kit comes with them or not), you should still have interoperability with Larkspur for the rest of the RAM between 36 and 60MHz, and the ability to talk to US Army between 30 to 52.95 (A setting) and 60 to 75.95MHz (B setting).

The kit doesn't come with the radio, just the radar monitor.

Been looking online - only 1 source for VRC-46 that I can find.

Looks like a Dutch(?) resin AM maker who makes conversion sets for AUS & Kiwi Land Rovers, but at 25Euro (+ postage, et al.) per set I'll stick with what I've got!  :o

Mate,  do you have in the stash of yours any older humvees or M151 Ford Mutts from Tamiya or Academy?
They both have old style radios in them and you could mod em to your needs .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

I'm just going to stick with the inaccurate Larkspur set-up I was going with.  <_<

Let's face it, the only people who'll care that it isn't any form of accurate radio are rivet counters & they don't matter!  :rolleyes:

Radios installed;

I think it was worth the effort, even if the set-up isn't "real".  ;)

Going right back to your first post on this thread, how available is that kit of the 'SRN5' hovercraft, which is what it is really?

I quite fancy civvie-ising one as the original Southsea-Ryde craft that operated in the 60s, which I travelled aboard more than once.

(You can't quite say 'flew', or 'sailed' vis a vis a hovercraft, can you?  :-\ )
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit
