As an interesting aside today 30th May is the 66th anniversary of the launching of the first full size experimental hovercraft, the SR-N1. (Courtesy of the I newspaper's daily Anniversaries piece).

Regrettably, no connection between the words in question

but much more to the point, isn't the i newspaper's anniversaries section fascinating?
