Thanks!

Not an aircraft I was aware of, hence my looking at Fw.187 history for info (I should have realised the wings were all wrong, too).

It sure does ! The base looks like a jack-up rig for an offshore rig. If you could keep it intact it would be helpful bits for a sci-fi diorama!

The lattice framework that supports most resin printed items are always useful for such things, industrial pipework and the like being the type of things that they lend themselves to.

The organic supports the programmes add look like they'll be useful to mix and match into sci-fi trees... hmmm... one day, maybe.

Are they both in HUGE boxes and filled full of bits you don't really need for the model, like their Spitfire PR1 kit that I got at Telford?

Indeed they are Kit, although the IAR box is slightly smaller and not quite so jammed packed. If you take the sprues out of the Spitfire box then you have fun getting them back in for sure  ;D

As for spares ? As an example the Spitfire has 5 propellors and 3 instrument panels (early, mid and late) amongst others. Initial perusal would suggest that most of the parts are needed for at least one of the 5 options. Not sure what ones are not needed at all.

The detail is incredible and I can't wait to get started. The instruction manual is a little bit messy, but with a good read before hand will be fine.

I've always like the early Mk I's with twin bladed props and that "flat" canopy.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I hadn't heard of the FW-57 before. Thank you!

The PR 1 kit is similar, that also comes with 6 props, and umpteen different canopies.  :o

If a few of us who get these kits get together after building one we may be able to amass enough 'spare' parts to build a complete other Spitfire!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Bit like the added extras in the Eduard and Special Hobby kits. I managed to stick the wrong jet pipe in a Mig-15, but still can't tell the difference between the one for the single and twin seaters  :banghead:

Some of the AZ 109 kits come with spare fuselages and others with spare wings, so .......................................

Received today

1 x 1/35 HobbyBoss 83897 South African Olifant MK1B MBT. If I remember correctly, this kit was initially incorrectly called the Mk 2. There are labels where the version number is on the top of the lid, also labels on the ends covering part of the description. The labels have the correct version information on them, so someone somewhere made a boo-boo, and it then got corrected.

From evilbay, 1/72 LS D4Y2 Judy. Not as detailed as some, and has engraved rising suns(!), but should be sufficient for what I want. One of those "happy" looking aircraft.
