Well after having taken a look at the F-4S kit, I'm rather impressed with the level of detail overall, though the missiles leave something to be desired.  The AIM-7s are so small they look like stretched AGM-45s, and have very little detail at all, and the AIM-9s look like fat AIM-9J/Ps  hardly suitable for a Navy Phantom (unless of course you're whiffing it  ;D ).  I'll probably end up swapping the missiles out for some of my 3D-printed ones when I get round to building this Phantom.

Oh the classic case of the knackered missile syndrome  ;D
I've got a good pile of those sorts ,,details which missed any form of accuracy ,,even tho in our world that's not a problem ,,which is good i'll admit
I brought ages ago the Hasegawa weapons sets for my birds ,,i'm lucky that the 48th scale sets are still easy to get ,,i think the 72nd ones are too and man either sizes the details a ten times better than you'll find in even the high priced kits some times ..which does shock me to be honest . :o
Perfect example is my Tamiya 48th F-15 kit ,,the kit goes together like a dream but the weapons are crap ,,the Sidewinders and Sparrows aint worth the plastic there molded from ,,thankfully the Hasegawa ones sort that out  ;D
The fins on those crap weapons tho come in handy for all sorts of things  ;)  ;D

I was going to say "all will become clear", but on the "realistic goals bring realistic achievments" principle, all I'm going to promise is that some of it will become somewhat entertainingly less confusing...

After two weeks the seller was still waiting for the parts to be delivered to him from his 3D print supplier and it took another week plus a couple of days for him to post the parts... when the ebay listing says he has 3 available of each set... :banghead:

I bought an Academy Jaguar in 144th scale from Ebay. Hadn't seen one before. Basic and a couple goofy curves. Hopefully looks like one when she's all painted.

Yep, they certainly look the part.
I'm only a bit worried about the Ranger's skids being able to hold the weight of the built model with 4 figures in there but today i have the whole afternoon to dig up both models and do some testing.

As mentioned elsewhere, and using the excuse to keep this thread up to date whilejust enjoying the odd post here, these items have arrived during the last week or so:

Another lovely Hasegawa Draken kit. You can never have too many of these.

An old Revell ATB, or what they once guessed the forthcoming B-2 Spirit would look like.  Will become a BAe Vulcan II in due course.

The basis for my planned SAAB long range bomber project, roughly looking at something in the TSR.2 class, from a performance point of view, an absolutely ancient Lindberg Draken in 1/48

The inspiration for the above is this AI picture of unknown origin

While not looking to build exactly that, I do have a couple of Airfix Viggen prototypes that could come in handy as well on this, methinks.

Further, an example of the guesstimated SAAB JAS39 Gripen prototype from Revell, which is horrendously inaccurate in most respects, but which also is a set of very nice whif fodder indeed, providing four really nice missiles that look definitely Swedish while not being too close to the real stuff, and also four ECM pods, two of which are very good bases indeed for actual pods used on A32A Lansens. There's also two other pods that could be used as Swedish lightweight ECM pods, inspired by the French Barax/Barracuda series.

The main reason for this last kit is however that I'll need its wings for the Sk35G Draken Mod 4 trainer.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!
