Arrived today via post:

DML 1/144 Tornado F3 twofer mentioned previously

Purchased today:

Polar Lights 1/2500 USS Shenzhou from eBay without the box, one less thing to clutter up space. And it was $25 USD shipped instead of the usual $30+shipping

Another 1/72 Airfix Rotodyne,  been in someone's attic or garage as the two fuselage halves don't fit. I also managed to find a 1/72 Blohm and Voss BV-138 'the clog ' flying boat,  I don't think the owner knew what it was hence the cheap price.

The Scimitar is a nice find, the last one I saw on eBay over here went for 52. Whilst created for and Sold by Hannants in their Xtrakit line, the tooling is the very familiar Sword limited run kit which is why they quoted over Sword produced Jets, assuming you knew this.

It can't be worse than the Xtrakit Sea Harrier, from what I've heard....  :banghead:

The Sea Harrier FA2 was the Special Hobby kit without all the resin bits they did in their own kit, same as the Sea Vixen FAW2. It was sort of rushed out for SMW and they issued it with an ill fitting canopy. It wasn't that bad, just not that great as it was Special hobby in their limited run kit era.

I don't think those are swords, though?  ;D  Scimitars, Cutlasses, and Sabres are swords but I've never heard of a Harrier sword!

EDIT: Oh wait, I get it... SWORD........ model kits! ha!!  ;D ;D   That flew right over me head...  I only have one of those, a 1/48 T-38 Talon. I've been searching for the the same in 1/72 for a couple years now....   :banghead:

I can't think of any more aircraft but there was the Rapier SAM and Suzuki Katana motorcycle (kitted in 1/12 by Tamiya).

IAI Dagger, F-102 Delta Dagger and X-3 Stiletto might be on the borderline if you want to have proper swords only. IAI Dagger is actually modern enough though that you could arm it with Durandal bombs and then you would have swords on your sword. ;D Su-24 Fencer is tantalizingly close ;)

Outside of jets, you have the Broadsword class (Type 22) frigate (and its lead ship), Claymore class destroyer, and HMS Excalibur.

Well that's good, then, because that leaves them open for whif-names. I like Rapier in particular.

Add to the stuff you mentioned,we have the Claymore land mines...  "face toward enemy!"

There was to be a whole "Weapon Class"  of destroyers in 1945, as listed at the foot of this article :- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weapon-class_destroyer

Today I received, from China courtesy of evil-bay, 100 HO (1/87) seated figures and 100 OO (1/72) mixed seated and standing figures.
The HO figures have a nice selection of different mouldings and I will use them if they do not prove to appear too small.  The OO figures have a number of different standing figure moulds but only one seated mould.  However, if I need to I should be able to do some surgery and transplant different upper bodies onto seated legs.

Would the MGM-51 Shillelagh anti-tank missile, named for an Irish club, fit in the discussion at this juncture?

Today arrived  my new airfix  Buccaneer,  its nice  don't  get me  wrong  but , my whelmed is a bit below par with it. Weaver  mentioned the  pylons  being  moulded onto the  rocket pods and this to me is very  amateur of Airfix,  it really is. Sorry  Airfix  but I want to decide what to  put on those  pylons.  The rocket pods  might  be salvagable, we shall see. Aftermarket  replacement  pylons  anyone? Perhaps  Colin  could  make some.
