It's 2nd hand and cheap so I took a chance on it, but it's yellowed and I'm not sure how usable it is, to be honest... :-\

Sellotaping it to a window should fix the yellowing.
Decals my @r$e!

That worked for the decals for My Leander class ship HMS Hero which I should get around to finishing some time  :banghead:

Not a model for the stash but it was bought with modelling in mind, a rotary tool with the bits to go on it. Bought at the local Lidl store for 25Ä, i hope it lasts long enough to be worth the money. Will be very useful for plastic surgery...  ;D

The key thing with cheap rotary tools for plastic modelling is not how fast they can go, but how SLOW they can go: it's far too easy to end up melting plastic rather than drilling it. What makes Dremels and the like expensive isn't the motor, it's the speed-controller.

If you can find one, get yourself one of the flexible drives.  Trying to do delicate work holding the tool like a pen isn't made any easier by the gyroscopic effect of the spinning motor inside the handle.

I have one of those multi tools, the battery let's it down, and the motor stalls very easily, not used it on any models as yet, but  the lack of power made me shove it on the naughty shelf
Chris

Thanks for the advice and knowledge, guys.
It has a 3 year warranty, has a very good range with the speed regulator and it seems to be good enough for what i want it for. It's not for everyday, hard work, it will only be used occasionally so for 25Ä, i think it was good investment. To work on low melting point materials, it works on the 1 to 3 speed modes but it can cut steel so it's strong enough. Should last me quite a while.
Don't know about the battery's duration but it should hold enough for the stuff i'm going to use it on.
Now, the flexible drive seems like a very good tool, i'll have to buy one. Just watched a review of the tool on youtube and it's compatible with Dremel accessories so it shouldn't be too hard to find one.

Yeah, totally agree.  Nothing like finding cool decals with lots of Whiffery potential for $3 instead of $12!

Nice little haul arrived today, with one big issue.

eBay lot of:
1/48 Monogram AV-8A Harrier
1/48 Monogram AV-8B Harrier
1/72 Monogram F-4C Phantom

Another from eBay:
1/48 Tamiya Spitfire Mk.Vb Tropical

From TwoBobs:
1/48 Commemorative T-45 Goshawk

The TwoBobs purchase came with some free missile decals which is nice, however the Kit box was crammed into a shipping box almost 3/4 inch smaller than the kit box, meaning the kit box is basically destroyed.  Having some issues uploading pics but I'll post one later to show the condition it arrived in.  VERY disappointing.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

I had that happen once with a "free shipping" buy. I wasn't impressed, but then again I saved some money so I didn't raise a fuss.

I saw on FB the other day, however, where a feller bought a nice, expensive kit (armor if memory serves) and when it was shipped, they put the shipping label right on top of the box lid itself and send it through the mail. The box was squished and a bit haggard and of course the label is right in the middle of the box top, and you can't get them things off without them leaving all kinds of crap.

I had the exact same thing with an Airfix Hurricane yesterday from Amazon.  Shipping label directly on the kit box.  I hope this is not a trend starting.

Here is the TwoBobs packaging.  I've emailed them with the picture.  I'd rather pay for shipping than them offer it free and end up with a damaged item.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....
