Thanks a lot, Kit. That's reassuring! I'm always a bit cautious around "new" decal suppliers as I've patched together just too many fragmented roundels in my day.

As I sit here in my clinic ward (it's time for another treatment again), while admittedly being a tad homesick, I'm still looking back to a very nice weekend indeed. On Thursday, the immensely better half turned half a century old, and to avoid too much hullabaloo at the home front, and clandestinely having plotted with her fav sis, I snatched her and brought her to Jönköping, another medium sized Swedish town in the southern half of the country. Jönköping is, apart from being our home for a few years early in our common history, situated almost halfway from where we and her sister lives, and also at the end of a rather large lake, Lake Vättern. And as the latter is an inverted horst (not the German soldier) the steep surroundings makes the view quite nice, in particular when the weather is calm. And calm it was. Dead calm, making for a grand view from the hotel spa bubble cup.

At the hotel, we met the sis in question, and her very nice bloke indeed, thank you very much, and then we spent 24 hours together as you do, dining, wining and chatting away. The lovely Mrs P was very pleased indeed!

At home, spring has not only arrived, but done so with a vengeance! 26C on Friday and Saturday, and the scent of blackthorn and hagberry drifts like perfume through the dales. It's an amazing and wonderful season!

On the other hand, such weather somewhat negates modelling time, so all I have done is adding some paint to that Skyflash bunch. It's getting closer, at least.
But first, I shall endure three days here at the hospital trying not to die from boredom. At least, the sunset today was nice..

Many thanks to all of you. The treatment is, as some of you might remember, the second in a row of at least four, but whether is works for real won't be revealed until after X-rays later in June, if even then. It's a slow process. On the other hand, statistics says it's pretty failsafe too, so I should be good.
As a matter of fact, I've just returned to my chambers (a much nicer noun than ward, don't you think?) from the administration of the isotope, so now, I'm firmly confined to these quarters for at least 20 hours. But it could be worse. There's plenty of cookies and sandwiches to go around, and I even have a good speaker system and some Bach going in it. So now, the target is to drink at least five pints worth of fluid before bedtime and then drain as much of it as possible to thereby get rid of excessive radioactivity. Unfortunately, they neither serve nor allow beer here, so instead, I have had to make do with the second best option, namely proper, black tea, of which I have brought about a half a pounds worth. That ought to have me sorted at least until I'm off to home by this tome tomorrow, God and the hospital physicist willing.

At our age, it seems to me that you've already bought most of what you really want. At least as far as reason goes. Hence, I think it's experiences that matters, and hanging out with people you like usually ranks rather high amongst such. So all well.

As a matter of fact, I did spend some time, probably most of the non-misspent parts of the otherwise solidly misspent youth, as a freelance photographer. Mostly news and nature, but also some automotive and portraits. Even some where the lady subjects apparently felt rather warm.

I've a mate who was a "photographers assistant" while he was at art college. He told some amazing stories of having to adjust certain items

Your treatment sounds similar to the one I went through. Lu-177 isotope in combination with a dotatate to carry it to the cancer cells. It worked pretty well for me. Four treatments spread out over about five months. The only after effects were fatigue over the following couple of days. Being isolated is probably the worst of it.

The very same indeed. We happy few, we band of brothers, etc..
