Quote from: PR19_Kit on April 06, 2025, 05:05:27 AMOoooh, that looks very close to 'Petter Blue' as used on the prototype Canberra, and JUST what I was looking for to use on the Dalgety!

Glad to help, Kit & Fred.

I have heard of someone having the ball bearing break the whole bottom out of the glass bottle when shaking it - so it's not unusual.

A major success this weekend.

My neighbour borrowed my mulcher, Minnie, which meant moving stuff to get her out of the shed which turned into a bit of a clear up and sort out and throwing away session.

And I found my paint roller washing gadget.  Woohoo!   :drink:    :drink:

This is the best decorating tool I ever bought.  You slide the paint roller (still on the handle) into a tube, hook the tube up to a tap via a length of hose, and then flush it through.  Much much better than any other roller cleaning method i've tried.
It's been missing for about five years since I finished painting the house after the renos and had proved impossible to buy a new one as they stopped making them.

Awesome.  I'm so pleased I found it.  Almost makes me want to go paint a bedroom.

Almost...

The other immediate neighbours are moving on, which is a shame.  They were there when we moved in 19 years ago.  Nice, if slightly crazy old couple but they have reached the point where they need professional care and so are selling up.  Real characters, the street will be less interesting without them.

Many things being worked on right now but the Ballarat NNL is now less than a month away.
Special theme is Japanese and i've been working on a Nissan Elgrand van.
White base with blue fades and anime swimsuit girl transfers.
I've panelled the side windows and interior floor and it will be otherwise OOB.
I'd also like to finish the Ford Woody for the show.
However, my attendance will depend on how Mrs z is coping with chemo as she'll have started round 3 the Monday before the show.

Don't ya hate it when companies actually make something useful for a couple years and then stop producing it?

Definitely.
Almost as if they realized the item was too useful and they'd never be able to sell more of other consumables; but surely that wouldn't apply in this day and age?

kerick

It's all about making a bundle of money as fast as possible. Then when sales slow down the company moves on to some other hot seller. Check shoe sales for a classic example.

Hmm Japanese.. as this is a beauty show, might be time to dust off, ergo... find, the Zero I have that has the working engine and spinning prop,  as modelling skill means zilch at this show it is all about attracting the eye of the masses  ;D

Correctamundo.  Big and shiny rules the roost when it comes to the people's vote.
However, only entrants get to vote in the NNL classes which means that however big and shiny your Zero is, or even if everything works like a real one, it will be a car which wins the Special Theme class.  It'll do well in the aircraft class though as the throng of "me only build car.  Car go broom broom, me no like airplane, tank or boat" modellers will have no idea what to vote for and will revert to type and go for fancy with working bits.
Here's my van as she is.

Quote from: zenrat on April 22, 2025, 04:01:51 AMNo progress today.  Took Mrs z for a chemo infusion.  That's 2 out of 8.

Hope Mrs z's doing OK, Fred!

Mrs W was getting double-tapped for the first round - pretty-much all day Fridays & a half-day Saturdays, every month - &, although she tried not to admit it, she felt like death warmed up by the end of each session.

At least she didn't suffer hair loss & it did what was written on the box top.
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!
