Quote from: Scotaidh on July 16, 2025, 01:14:30 PMIt was, IIRC, included with the "Testors 1/72 SR-75 Penetrator Spyplane, 4078".

I bought the model in a moment of weakness - it was on sale in an Ocean State JobLot store, and I hadn't built anything for months.

I've got one of those, as well as two of the equally ficticious "curvy B-2s" that Revell released before the reveal of the W-shaped original:

Got all three from somebody on here who was having a sale - apologies: can't remember who.
I have that B2 kit too, and sold the SR-75 and XR70 kit to someone on here. The B2 will be an RAF maritime patrol aircraft.

Yup - got the B2 triangle-wing.  Built it flying, then couldn't get the fishing line to stay on it - no corners, really - it kept slipping off.  :)  I still have it - it needs some repairs from travel/packing damage, but I have it.  Still have no idea how to display it unless I use one of those three-prong plexiglass stands.  :)
I've never seen the B-2 wing bomber kit before bud ,,that a great thing to have in the stash mate and ill bet in todays world ,,not an easy find ,,bet the bugger has some size to it too..knowing how big the SR-75 is that wont be small  ;D

26.5" wingspan... :o
Dude in our sizes thats 672.5mm!!!  :o
Holy crap pickles !

Yep: in a recent attempt to re-organize my house I took those boxes and several others of the same size up the attic, only to discover that there was NO shelf or space big enough for them. I them had to bring them down again and clear two extra wide shelves in the front bedroom to make the only possible space they could go...

Mrs. Scotaidh wanted to see what the fuss was about, so I unearth the B-2 AI (Artist's Impression).

First time I've looked at it in years, as the cobwebs attest.  I'd forgotten - when I packed it prior to a move, I had to break off the stbd wing to get it to fit in the box.  It never would go back on flush, so there's a lot of putty that needs to be sanded down.  The bomb doors are missing, too, showing the cruise missiles in their revolver dispensers.  I'll probably remove those and bodge up some replacement doors ... sometime.

See Gentlmens..there's our problems in a nut shell ..we all love large models of aircraft..especially the wiffy ones ..we get them..we're happy 😊
Then the time comes to stash em ...it is also most like your moving house even when your not just to find room to store em  ;D
And then ya do move house and it starts all over again 🙄 😁
He'll even my modest collection has some pretty big birds in it and man the imagination has worked over time to sort em ..it bloody good fun 😁

That's a brilliant way of fixing that possible problem bud  ;D  ;D
When i was a little dude i grew up on a farm and the house we lived in was fecking huge ,,15ft high ceilings ,,needed a step ladder to change a light blub
My bedroom was big ,,a ton of space and working with my dad fixing machines and the like i was able to buy damn near all of Monograms 48th line of twin engined aircraft ,,I even had space to spare when i brought the even bigger 72nd birds ,,,the B-36 tho did take up quite a lot of space as it turned out

Not actually a whif but might serve as inspiration: an FM-2 Wildcat with space for passengers.

Found this lovely jet adaptation of the last SAAB propeller bomber, the B18

I'm not sure but I think it's by Swedish Air Force technician Emil Lindberg who also is a modeller and an invaluable source for near current data about RSwAF aircraft.

Regardless, it is a really inspiring piece of artwork.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

That Wildcat interior shows just how tubby the little fellow was  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

In the same class as Brewster Buffalo.
Finland's Ace of Aces Ilmari Juutilainen said in an interview that they'd transport mechanics in the Brewster fuselage. Also, one pilot took two adults, a largish dog, and some luggage in a Brewster ... and had a landing mishap when they arrived. Some bigwigs saw it and the guy got court martialed for it  ;D

I'd heard that Hurricanes were as spacious inside too, can't remember the source though.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Somebody noted that they used to take mechanics in Bf109s too. That may have been a bit cramped.

Cool, I am just not certain about the Saab 18's twin fins so close to the hot jet efflux?
