OTOH, I read an article in the Stanford University paper about how scientists there may have discovered a molecule that stop arthritis and gets the cartilage to grow back. This is in mice and Petri dish experiments so far but sign me up for the tests!

That sounds as if I could end up being the right person to try it out, just when it's available for trials.

Tape up a tail and some whiskers and go see if you can get allocated to the next mouse trials?  ;)

Take care, mate. Arthritis isn't fun.

I have taken Tuesday off work. The reason is that my mum had her email hijacked, and none of the methods that her provider wanted us to use to recover access are available.  :banghead:
Two email addresses are given, and a mobile phone number. One of the email addresses is not one I recognise, the other has not been used for so long that we would have to get a message on the email address that we can't access to use it.  Bloomin' typical! I am sure that the phone number is from ages ago, when my parents had a mobile phone in the car for emergency purposes. This was a pay-as-you-go phone, and as it was never used, the number was deleted. I am sure the number was one of a couple that they had like that.
Fortunately, my mum is with BT for both her phone and email, so we can use her account details, etc., to provide proof of ownership and get access back. But the thing will be trying to phone someone to get this to happen. Hence, my takeing the day off work.

Just ONE day? That'd be a miracle..............
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Best of luck Gondor.

All sorted by 12:45 local. Mind you, that was the second phone call, and between phone calls there was a coffee break. Going back after lunch to sort out a few things, but she has a new email, 99.99% her choice of content, I simply added a special character, and the sender's name needs to be changed, but that should be it. Whoever had got onto her email made a mess of the password reset. The date of birth and postcode had been removed, which caused the whole thing to take as long as it did. A new emergency email address and phone number have been added, both active, so that solves the problem of inactive email and phone numbers, which slowed us down to start with.

I had a phone call from my mum this morning. She was complaining that she was not getting any emails and was having difficulty sending emails. Knowing that when checking that access to her email account was working yesterday by sending an email to her account from my mobile worked, I sent her a new email to prove to her that her email was working. It then transpires that she was trying to send a group email to my sisters, but failed to do so. So, Friday afternoon, I will be visiting her to show her how to send such an email.
Other news is that yesterday I ordered a replacement dash cam for the car. This time, I ordered a reworked unit from the manufacturer as it was the cheapest option. I was surprised a short time ago when the doorbell rang, and I was handed a parcel which turned out to be the new dash cam. I checked that the basic function of the cam was working, powered by my pc, and set the car registration. The cam is now in the car and working with the rear cam too. Very happy to finally have everything working. I think I may contact the company and see if I can send them the old cameras to be reworked, and if I will get anything for doing that.

Procrastination is always a problem when modelling, that and the shiny new thing. I can easily say that, as I have a model that I had the idea for over a decade ago, when I first made the trip to Telford. I shall try to finish that model, along with my short Stirling as they would make an interesting pair. So far today, all I have managed to do is to catch up on emails, rearrange some models on a shelf, partly so they would not collapse on top of me and order some DUNDERGUBBE from IKEA so I can improve the insulation in the loft. To be fair, paying for the boxes to be delivered to Stirling is probably slightly more expensive than travelling to and from the IKEA outlet that I normally frequent, but then the delivery saves me the travel time. So cataloguing and storing kits into each box will take time, but it does not need to be done all at once. I also have to build a drawer from the EBMA paint unit that I received today. I bought the whole unit for one drawer, but it can also hold other drawers of the same type, so I can mix and match if I need to, and I also have the unit if I need it for further expansion, if required. This also means I must get around to setting up the printer to handle the sheets of labels I have, so that each drawer will be annotated with the contents.
Mentioning computer-related stuff reminds me that I need to get my proverbial finger out and get on with learning the CAD software that I have, especially as another couple of sections of the course I am following have been updated to the latest versions of the software. It would also be a massive help to what I am thinking of doing in the future, but that is for the future and not now, as I may change my mind.
Modelling-wise, I have been slowly working on the wing joints of the two Martin-Baker aircraft. I have met a small snag which is slowing things down a little, but I am getting through it and with luck, I should be looking at getting them on their feet by this time next week.

It's been one of those days. It's kind of gone smoothly, but could have gone smoother. Most of the human race are either too young or not bothered about rules, especially where cars are involved.
So that day started with myself enjoying a Saturday sleep-in. No need to get up unless the time was after ten am. I had a delivery to collect between ten and twelve, so I needed to be up by then. Today was also a food shopping day, so factoring that in with the collection from my local supermarket car park, I went out. I didn't collect from the car park due to other people doing so, as the nearest parking spaces were taken. So home, put the shopping away and have brunch. I nearly had a second mug of tea after brunch, but realised that doing so could mean that I would miss the delivery van as they were parked up for a limited time only. No problem with parking, just getting out of the parking space due to the flow of traffic.
Later, I decided to open the EBMA package and remove the single drawer that I bought it for. I know that sounds wasteful, but now I have a carcass for two drawers, a second drawer of the type I bought it for, and the empty drawer that I was replacing; it's there if needed. First thing was though, glue. The bottle that I had was solid, so off out in the car again, trip number three, to B & Q for more wood glue. When I got home, I saw an email saying that EVRI had actually delivered a parcel to my collection point. Off out yet again, this time the car seat didn't have time to cool down.
The things that got me down were mainly while going to and being at B & Q. Near the store, the car in front of me was pretending to be a BMW rather than the small Toyota that I saw. No indication when approaching or leaving a roundabout  :banghead:  Then, when I was approaching the parking for the store, a vehicle driving towards me must have been thinking that the width of the lane was only suitable for one car, not the two that it was supposed to take. Then there was parking. The parking in front of the B & Q store in Sterling had been resurfaced and new, wider parking bays marked out. Not wide enough for one person. They were parked directly over the markings that denoted the corners of the bays as if they were aim points rather than boundaries. They were lucky that I didn't see them when I arrived or departed from the store; I would have suggested they apply for a disabled badge, or words to that effect.

People have come up with some very inventive ways of dealing with a€$*%#~* parkers like that. Usually involving chains, trolleys and spray paint.

I have been trying not to buy models since payday on Thursday, as I have the Scottish Nationals in Perth in April, so what happens? Three orders on eBay and one from the BIG yellow H so far  :banghead:
Admittedly, in my defence, the order from Hannants was mainly for paint, and an item that had been out of stock happened to arrive as well, so what was I supposed to do?
Two of the orders on eBay are for tools or accessories. The tools are long handeled cotton buds, and the accessories were resin gun barrels for the Buckingham. The kit parts are actually not too bad; however, they are not as good as the resin ones I have on order. The third purchase from eBay is a Special Hobby Tempest Mk II. It was cheap, and I am not sure if the previous one I bought has been lost by Everi or not; they have had it a week so far, which is not good for a two-day delivery.

Nice kit, except for the cowling. Ignore the instructions regarding the instructions and attach each half to it's respective fuselage half and go from there. Makes life a lot easier.

Here's my origional note on site.

This is my third KP Tempest Mk II and I now at least seem to have cracked its construction. It's a lovely build apart from the cowling. So, ignore the instructions which would have you build a complete cowling and attach that to the fuselage and instead attach each cowling half to its respective fuselage and then assemble the two complete fuselage halves as per normal.

And here's the link to the build on site
