Once back home from that, and after a little shopping, I intend to get stuck into the  Vulture Sterling,

We are all delighted to read that yesterday was a good day off work for you.

My somewhat surreal imagination has taken the "Vulture Stirling" off in a totally ridiculous direction.   I can just hear a David Attenborough wildlife commentary    "As the Italian deep-desert patrol staggered  unsteadily   back  towards the Libyan coast,  the vulture Stirlings circled above, waiting for the right moment  to swoop down and dismember their exhausted prey"

Actually, a Stirling with four  Vulture engines,  thoroughly developed by Rolls Royce,  has intriguing possibilities.

This one only has two; it is a SHORT Stirling after all.

I am finding that today is an expensive day. I spent money on getting the correct type of rear-facing dash camera to match the front-facing camera fitted to the car, only to find that my having tried to use the previous rear camera has caused the connection to the rear camera not to work, so I need a new front-facing camera  :banghead:  :banghead:

As my ability to use Fusion 360 increases, albeit at a snail's pace, I am thinking of making the rear of my Leander class frigate in resin rather than scratch-building it from plastic. This is partly so that I could possibly sell on the design, and also to allow me to use this first iteration as the basis for other versions or the aft end of the Leander frigates. Of course, I needed to find the copies of the drawings I have, and that I was using for the scratch build, which I could not find for ages. I had checked basically all of the desk without finding them. I sat down for a few minutes and then realised that the drawings were right by my left elbow  :banghead:
The fact that the Leander class improvements I intend to make will be 3D printed resin means that the majority of the work I have done can now be used for the Daering call conversion I have also been building, as that lends itself to a one-off build rather than the Leander.

I am enjoying working on the MB.3b and MB.4 at the moment. Having a break from them and working on other things has meant that my appetite for working on them has grown; well, that's the best that I can describe it, and considering my audience, you will probably get/understand what I am saying. I am hoping that an idea or two I have, with a good deal of input from Lee, will happen and that I will be able to do more kit bashing with another two old Airfix kits I have in my stash and have a go at the proposed 'Super Stirling', which should please Kit as the wingspan was increaced to 135 foot and 9 inches. That should be an interesting build.

135 ft 9 ins?

Getting there, sure.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I got a bit bored at work earlier, so I booked more holidays prior to the Scottish Nationals. I now have the full week off prior to the show, with the Monday and Tuesday to recover afterwards.

So plenty of time to do the last-minute finishing of projects - and do the packing!

Nice, so we can expect to see the P.1121, and the P.8 finished then...

Unfortunately no. I am hoping to get the MB.4 finished, probably the MB.3b as well. Anything else will be a bonus.

I was at the Doctor's this afternoon to talk with him over the results of my X-rays from a couple of weeks ago. They confirmed that I have rheumatoid arthritis on my right side in both the knee and the shoulder. When I had my scan for a hernia, it was found to be present in my right hip; the X-rays were taken to check the other joints. I suggested to my doctor that I get the left shoulder X-rayed to make the full set and to provide a point of reference for the future. Because the X-ray department was closed for lunch and there was no point in travelling home to have lunch and then to drive all the way back, I popped into the RVS cafe and had something to eat there. The prognosis of my doctor was that it would probably be another ten years before I may have to become part cyborg, but we shall see how things progress.

That's not too bad then. It's just a matter of how much you are willing to endure before resorting to the spare part plan.
OTOH, I read an article in the Stanford University paper about how scientists there may have discovered a molecule that stop arthritis and gets the cartilage to grow back. This is in mice and Petri dish experiments so far but sign me up for the tests!

That sounds as if I could end up being the right person to try it out, just when it's available for trials.

They were growing cartilage 20 years ago when I knackered my knee. Shame I changed health authorities by moving and missing out on the chance to have mine replaced. Could've solved a lot of problems!

Sounds like the so-called 'Postcode Lottery' we have here that's one of the issues plaguing our health care system... :banghead:
