Quote from: NARSES2 on January 17, 2026, 05:10:20 AMTalking of figures I wonder if they still have the 54mm figure moulds ?
Most likely as some were rereleased in 1994. The Scots Grey, French Cuirassier, Life Guard
and Polish Lancer cavalry figures in 2000 and the four were in the catalog until 2002.

Thanks Jon

The Polish Lancer was one of my favourites in the range

My favourite horseman is the Indian chap.  I have one somewhere.  I plan a very subtle whiff.  Built OOB except for the addition of a holstered AK47 on the saddle and some discreet ammo pouches.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Don't forget his walkie-talkie radio too.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That will need a set of loaded tyres.
Which is something Airfix could add to their canopy masks as part of an aftermarket accessories range.

Why don't they include a set with the model these days?  They do in a lot of modern aircraft kits.

Ah, I vaguely remember him now. Never had one though
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I often think the weakest part of Airfix armour kits in any scale are the wheels and tyres. Lack of bulging, but also never quite right - not terrible but not on the money either.

Not as bad as Italeri's wheels though.

He's a Bengal Lancer.

Ah yes   I think the last boxing I saw was in French, which may have confused me  .

You could probably make a couple of nice WWI era figures from him. 1914 and 1918. Whilst the infantry from the Indian Army Corps that was sent to France in 1914 went to the Middle East after the dreadful winter of 14/15, the cavalry stayed through to Nov 1918. Rather odd I've always thought ?

I do love that figure, wish I had the skill and patience to paint them.

I have wondered before about pairing the HäT Bengal Lancers with the Airfix or Master Box Mark I tank, the new seeing out the old.

jcf

The Bengal Lancer was also done in 1/12th.

That'd be a cool little vignette.

Would indeed, especially if the tank was stuck in a shell hole and the cavalry are moving past it  ;)

Or the lancers stuck in mud and the tank carrying on...
