The c 130 I saw wasn't white, the colour was Orange, at most a sand brown. The RAF ones are a shade if green now aren't they? As I thought perhaps it was in desert livery

Some are green, some are grey. (Now there's a surprise..... )
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

The spray bars are, I'm guessing, an oilslick dispersing agent. I'm sure I've read about it somewhere...

You lot get all the fun. All we have coming over are a big training school's Diamond twins. Horribly anorexic-looking things.

Heard a large turboprop yesterday, too overcast to see it tho. Sounded funny tho, like one engine was surging or the props weren't synched or somat.

Toady I was in London ( ON ) and saw the ORNGE life flight AW a few times. Lovely sounding helo.

I was watching a pair of Sulphur Crested Cockatoos in the back yard today and for such large birds (maybe 3' span?) they are surprisingly agile managing to fly at a fair speed through the boughs of a gum tree.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

After y'days debacle with the car Mrs_PR19 and I decided to have another try at the 'lunch out' business today, gluttons for punishment that we are. Today the car worked perfectly of course and we went off to the Aviator Restaurant at Gloucestershire Airport.

What a wonderful place it is with large scale flying models hanging in the roof and loads of aviation pictures on the wall, and the food's not bad either.  ;D

But the high point of the place is the view as it stands on a low hillock that overlooks the ramp and two of the runway thresholds there so we had a magnificent view of the all the activity while we ate. On the fixed wing side there were 3-4 different sized Piper Cherokees, a Navajo, a Jabiru Lightning (I think...) and a Dornier 328. On the rotary winged side we saw Robinson R-22s and an R-44, two Eurocopter EC135s and a 145.

Nice day out
Local news actually had a story about plane spotters at Chicago O Hare airport. Mostly young men snapping pics. Some were excellent shots.

At work today:

Wasn't a case of 'seen over your house', more like 'seen below me' --- My station today was on the roof of Calgary Airport's terminal (keeping an eye on the construction workers fixing the roof), anyway, I've not seen a Boeing 787 in the flesh before, and today I saw not one, but two of Air Canada's 787s right below me, about 50 feet below me actually   ;D

It's really a nice looking aircraft ----

Today was my turn! ;D I'd never seen one "in the flesh" and this afternoon, just before i left the wine estate where i work, one of these beauties flew, i'd say 200ft, above my head...

Was at my station yesterday when I just looked up and saw this trundle by -- sorry about the quality, but this frecking LG cell phone I have doesn't take good zoomed in pictures when you don't have five minutes to pi$$ around with the settings ----  :-X :-X :-X

This was the best of the lot that I took, sort of really pi$$ed off right now

Couple more Chinooks turned up and landed in Seven Kings park...seems to happen quite often but nothing in the locals about it. Anyone in the know have a clue what they're up to?

A family group of Red Kites!  Three natural aviators, circling above our house.  They are gradually moving East from the Brecon Beacons, where there is a release site and feeding station.  200 (yes, two hundred!!) red kites circling in the air above the viewpoint/feeding area is quite a remarkable sight.

Real Thaw 2016 started on Monday and is on till the 4th of March. It's based on the BA11 at Beja, it's the closest military airbase to where i live, only 90 minute drive. May head up there on the weekend with a friend's camera to see if i can get a few more pics of that and anything else flying around.
