Sounds like somebody is moving something out of (or around) the country while attention is on the tory party conference... :o

That's later on, it's the Labour Party Conference that's on now, last day in fact.

Just seen over the house a skein of about 3dozen geese. Heard them before I saw them.
Looked lovely against the beautiful blue sky.
Only thing, this lot were headed NORTH. Slightly disorientated I would think, them not me!

Just had an e-mail from my sister (she is now an Australian and has been for many years). She and her husband are staying with friends in Brisbane, in their apartment, and she got these shots of the rehearsal for a fly-past that is due to take place, I think to-day/tomorrow.

The second shot appears to be one of Australia's newer EF-18G Growlers.

Oh yes the apartment is on the 54th floor, which I have to admit would scare the willies out of me!!!!!!

Neat shots

I have no problems with heights as long as there is something between me and the drop, even if it's only a few inches high, otherwise  :-\
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

This Ecuriel came over the house yesterday, flying low and slow. From the colour scheme I believe that this is the one operated by Strathclyde Police, and the manner in which it was being flown also makes me feel that is who's it is.
However it is that rig it is fitted with that raises the questions. Normally it has the round camera turret under the nose but this looks very different.
Could it be a new system for getting 3D images?

This afternoon a naval Lynx flew up the Thames. Strangely it had a radome under the nose and what looked like a German cross on the side.
Why would one of these be over here?

I know they are up for replacement by either a new Lynx Wildcat, the H-60 or the NH-90 soon. http://www.defense-aerospace.com/articles-view/release/3/196738/german-navy-to-replace-21-sea-lynx-asw-helicopters.html

A Vee formation of three CH-47 Chinooks flew right over the airport today, couldn't make out which airforce they belonged to though ----  They didn't land or take off from YYC, and they were headed in a south/southwest direction so could have been heading to Washington as I can't think of anything else in the direction.

A neat Vee formation of 8 or 10 whooper swans just flew past the old brick wall factory, turned into office building.

They were heading west along a lakeside ridgeline - but are surely planning to turn south at some point.

Do they make complete walls or only parts of walls or are they just making antique walls at that factory?  ;)

I should probably reconsider my sentence structure. When I get a round tuit.

When I get a round tuit.

Tuits of any shape are much over-rated bits of kit. I had one once and it exhausted me keeping up with it.  Which reminds me, I've some procrastination to get started  one of these days.

More to the point, thick FOG over chateau Rheged at the moment , so the ?three? very noisy jets that flew over could have been absolutely anything.....Typhoons (likely), USAF Vipers (possible),  lost Aeronavale Rafales looking for their carrier(probably not) or even a flight of Me262's that have fallen through a rift in the space/time continuum (most unlikely, but there's funny things happen in the Forest of Dean and along Offa's Dyke).  There's also been the unmistakeable sound of a couple of low flying  Herculii.......probably lost 'cos they can't see the roads to follow.

Saw it going back out to sea this afternoon. Maybe there's a German Navy ship out there and the captain was off to a jolly night out?

Forgot to mention the London Air Ambulance we saw landing in Parliament Square on Tuesday. Dropped in very sharply and took off 20 minutes later.

Exotic visit nearby at the local airport: an An-124 landed this morning at DUS, with 55 tons of industrial stuff on board:
