Supposedly -- one of these Kit --  years overdue and Canada is threatening to cancel. The one that got delivered as I said above, was to appease the Ministry. It's supposed to be our Sea King replacement.

If it gets the job done, Kit, it doesn't necessarily have to look pretty.  After all, look at the best COIN bird in the USAF inventory right now- the A-10.  As ugly as the back end of a camel, but beats almost all the sleek, slippery, pointy nosed *****-getters deployed to Afghanistan, save the bombers- but bombers can't suppress with guns.  I just wish the Fighter Mafia would get over their obsession with sleek, slippery, and stealthy and give M7 Aerospace (owners of Fairchild) a contract for new 'Hogs.

There are plenty of civil and coast guard variants flying (the Irish for one), but Canada is the only country so far dibbing for the ASW variant to operate off our Navy ships.  It was supposed to be an ""off-the-shelf"" buy with deliveries starting in 2009 -- apart from the one mention, none have been delivered so far ---

The Coasty/ Fishery ( green and gold ) Super King Air flew over....but unfortunately I was knee deep in near freezing water wrestling an 8" hose.....
