Walking in the Lake District has several great benefits. Beautiful scenery, good exercise, wonderful wildlife, lovely lakes, the sheer peace and quiet.....  until an Eagle wakes you up!  :tornado:
In 5 days I saw these 2 F-15s, a pair of RAF Hawks, a single ship Hawk and heard several more loud roars from over the other side of the hills! We had a late night low level Hercules flyby, probably practising for supply delivery to anti-ISIS forces in Kurdistan.

In the Lakeland Motor Museum is this Flying Flea. Very good museum and definitely worth visiting for at least an afternoon.

Border Guard Bell 412 doing helicoptery things in a pretty small area. Most likely, it was participating in some Police School exercise.

A helicopter

and these two just sit up there laughing at me...

I have a pair of Kookaburras which seem to have decided to nest in a gum tree behind my house in the Park by the primary school.  They're always having a laugh it seems, so I know just what you mean, Zenrat!

A Dash-8 I've never seen before ( blue over white with no other markings I could see ) flew over on an odd track. Looped around and looked to be heading to the airport. Wasn't there when I drove by tho.

Dogfights have been taking place over stately Fred mansion.  Wattle Birds are trying to drive Kookaburras off but the Kooka's are having none of it and are hanging around in case there is a chance to make a meal of Wattle chick.
The little skinks have taken to hiding in my shed to avoid becoming first course.

Up in London for a trade show, and although I didn't get over to the airport for the Jet Aircraft Museum's Open Doors day, I did manage to spot the visiting B-17 trundling around the London skyline !

Trucking down the M27 this morning I was just thinking 'Those are the Southampton Airport runway lights' when a FlyBe Dash 8Q-400 basted off right over my head! The pilot must have been an ex-Lightning man the way he already had the gear up by the time he was over me and was climbing like the proverbial homesick angel!

I managed to hobble out to the garden today, first time outside under my own steam since about 22nd August, and noticed our friendly GCHQ Islander/Defender/Whatever tooling around overhead...listening in to local mobile phone traffic. Naughty, naughty .

But it's perfectly legal if the listener was a US National of course.........

I've got a pic of one of those taken at RAF Odiham. It has a big notice in the windscreen that says 'Photography of this aircraft is strictly forbidden'. Needless to say it was SURROUNDED by photogs!  ;D

Why didn't they leave it in the hangar????

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
