Based on Supertom's suggestion and Wooksta's developments, I'm setting this thread up for discussions and questions about my own projects. When discussing the pistol build that started as "Big Ugly" and turned into "Athena," please check cultural and political stuff at the door and keep to technical, conceptual or craftsmanship questions and comments. Thank you!

Well, the throttle is barely cracked but the 1927 Twentieth Century Limited is under steam and moving... update in its post on the main blog. Starting with the most recognizable piece, Pullman observation "Central Park" now preserved in a museum and under restoration.

Diamondback

Some minor updates on the Twentieth Century Limited. Another Pullman, a few more books and some car-name decals on the way.

Well, not the observation but the first sleeper for the '27 Century arrived today. Crisp striping and lettering, well executed postwar New York Central two-tone gray, simply gorgeous for factory paint. It's a shame I'm gonna have to strip it all to backdate it to 1920s Pullman Green...

Pic added so y'all can see what I'm up against on the '27 Twentieth Century. I would prefer the Branchline kits because there's less disassembly needed to strip the paint and backdate them, but they didn't get to an observation beore spiking the project.

Just posted an update with good news for the 1927 20th Century but bad news for everything else on my modeling bench.

Sorry to read the bad news, best of luck with what you need to do.
