Lookin' good.

As to the PACV, hosanna Gecko got the lift fan right, it's basically a big squirrel cage blower rather
than the "ducted fan" of the resin Masterpiece Models kit and other smaller scale renditions.

I wonder if Gecko will do the US Army SK-5 Model 7255 version. The USN PACV are Bell SK-5
Model 7232, an SRN-5 reengined with GE 7LM-100 PD101 in place of the Gnome. The SK-5
Model 7255 was an extensive redesign of the SRN-5 and Bell's first production hovercraft.
Early configuration drawing, power turret, two grenade launcher turrets, the squared off bow,
wider cargo door and flat deck common to the civil Model 7250 and military Model 7255. As
delivered ACV901 and ACV902 had only a single grenade launcher on the port side and the
power turret was replaced with a simple ring mounted .50MG. ACV903 was setup in a cargo
configuration it had a widened superstructure with a larger cargo door and ramp, two MG
pulpits and one grenade launcher turret.

Thanks, Jon!

I'm taking a bit of a sabbatical on this build, for a while, though.

Quote from my blog to explain why:

Quote from: Old Wombat on August 17, 2025, 09:52:03 AMI think the 3D printed resin that the .50cal feed chutes are made of has beaten me ... For the moment.

It takes more effort than ordinary polymer resin to bend &, when it does, it can take two or three re-heats with it clamped into position before the bends hold.

Then woe-betide you if any heat gets near the bent area again, as it flicks straight back to being straight!  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

So, tomorrow later today, I'm going to clean up the workspace, put the PBRs aside, & find something else to build, a plane, which fits into my vehicle/watercraft/aircraft cycle.

Hopefully a more maneuverable belt system shows up.

Just resurrecting this build, because I'm doing some work on it.

Hopefully I'll get them done.

Also resurrected the SpORT Boat thread, as I want to do a few minor upgrades to that (it's in the In the Navy GB, in "The Knackers' Yard").

PROGRESS!!  ;D  ;D

However, it has been a long & painful process getting just this far, & the results are a long way from perfect.

Still, considering almost every gun came off at least once whilst trying to fit the feed chutes & most of the feed chutes had to be re-done at least once, I'm satisfied with the finished product - It'll do!  :banghead:  :banghead:

PS: Oh, and of the eight cocking handles that were on the .50cal's, there's only one left. I have to replace the rest.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.
