Nice model Budd, that scheme suits the Skyray.

Brad, I was wondering about the colors you have chosen for this project.  If you were going for an aircraft used during the Malvinas/Falklands conflict, would the Argentine Navy have considered toning down the markings like they did with their A-4 squadrons?  Or would they have used it for air defense of the homeland in which case, colorful markings would not have made a difference.

Man, I just about bought one of those this past week. Forgot just how pretty they are.

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...

Jeffry- Notice the NAVAL titles instead of ARMADA.  This places the Skyray before '82.  I think they changed titling sometime before 1976.

Martin-Well, Phil was there when I bought the kit, but I'm the one that came up with the Argie idea.  I think he's planning on doing a Falklands SHAR killer.

And everybody else-thanks for the comments!   Should have this baby finished today-after a cup of coffee and breakfast!

Guess I should have read up on the history of the Argentine Navy a bit before asking the question.  I recognized the country and military service, but the colors/markings were the stumper.

Still it looks good and why not keep it in service a bit longer in the WHIF world?  If the airframe was capable of taking upgrades for the engine and avionics, it would look good in subdued markings for the 1982 time period.  Add a couple of updated sidewinders and a pair of sparrows to make it a better interceptor with a bit longer reach.

Have that in mind but with a F5D Skylancer if I can find the kit.  If not, I'll do something to the other 1/72 kit I have.  Like the idea of a upgraded Ray though.  Two later winder and two Sparrow would have been an interesting match with SHARs.
