Well, here's the first "What If" I did.  It's a Hobbycraft 1/48 A-10A that I made into a USMC A-10W with the addition of a TRAM-like sensor for guiding in LGBs and other PGMs.

I hope you all enjoy it!

I tried to post the photos here, but the board didn't like the Snapfish format, so I had to do it this way.

Wow...nice job on the paintscheme.  How about considering some racks with Hellfires or Marconi Brimstones?  They're lightweight, so you could load up a bunch without overloading the aircraft.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Awesome! That's an amazing paint job, very good lines, and quite realistic.

Welcome aboard, fellow what-ifer!

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Captain Canada

Wow...that is definately great work !

Must've been a right bitch doing that masking tho, eh ? Well worth it, I'd say !

Thanks for the kind words and warm welcome!

The paint scheme wasn't too bad, really, I knocked it out in one day!  I made some stencils for the basic shapes and then dialed the airbrush down to as fine as I could get it and then shot the different colors onto the green base coat.  If/when I do it again, I'll probably try another method, or at least rethink this one.

I had thought about putting Hellfires on it, but I didn't have any on hand, and I did have the Rockeyes and the rest collecting dust.  The loadout was with USMC close air support in mind, so I hung a mix of PGMs for high value targets as well as the snake eyes "dumb" bombs and cluster bombs for troops/vehicles in the open.

Oh, thanks for adding the photos, too.  What's the secret to getting it to work?

Ooh! Pretty!

Love the Digital Camo paint scheme. Good looking model, Jello!

LemonJello,
Welcome aboard. :) These guys probably don't know this, but you and Trigger74 got me started with all my What Ifs at the A-10 What If GB over at FSM. Thanks.  Plenty of imagination running amok over here. ;)

Your A-10 is really a good one! The last time I saw it , you had just started your paint. Very nicely done. BZ! B)

Jello,
Great job on the Whiskey Hawg, love the entire concept especially the details: cockpit upgrade, TRAM, loadout. Came across it last week at FSM.

I think it would look pretty good in desert MARPAT. Hmmmm, I may just have to do one myself.

Spends too much time researching rather than building...

BlackOps

Nice job! A-10 has always been a favorite and the new paint suits it well :)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That A10 is brilliant. That is one hell of a top scheme. Must've taken you hours to get right. I'd also add my welcome to the mad house, so pull up a chair, open a beer and prepare to loose your sanity and the contents of your wallet!!!!
