Captain Canada

200 sounds good to me !

My 144th scaler will be a 436 or something, from RCAF Stn Trenton. Probably look just like the pic I drew. Drop me a PM with how yours will look, eh ? And I'll tell you how my Airfix dealy is going to look.

Cheers !

I'm looking for info on my bomb bays as well........I sure wish I could find my book !

But    http://concordesst.com/    has loads of good stuff to peruse.........

I'm figuring on deleting the tail-bumper wheel in exchange for a bumper, and using that space for my hose-and-drogue unit.

I'd also like to put a small weapons bay in front of the front wheel well, for defensive weapons. Just need to modify the avionics area, which shouldn't be too hard as todays electro-gizmos are 2/3rds smaller than the stuff of a few decades ago.

Also, for a main weapons bay, I'm thinking either a pair of doors with moveable trolleys or somat for the bombs, or using a pod system like the B-58.

Any suggestions and ideas welcome !

You might want to check out some of the Boeing WS-110A designs in "Valkyrie" as to how they did a weapons bay, some of them are close in layout to the Concorde.  If need be, drop me an email and I'll see what I can scan for you.

So your Concorde will be what, a MRTT?  Tanker, bomber, recce, transport?

What number will it have?

Captain Canada

It'll predate the MRTT idea.......the transport variant will be a combi type, with ability to refeul other a/c. It will also have the small forwrd weapons bay for defensive weaponry.

The Bombecorde will have a dedicated bomb-bay.

But I'm still thinking out the whole thing. I'd like to have an ASW role as well......

Agreed on CC-200, but mine will be BAC/Aérospatiale built though...

Canadair's hands are full with all they are building!

No, I've got too many......we need home production.

How about Avros in Toronto ? Lots of big runways there !

I'm also pitching the droop snoot in favour of radar and cameras.

And of course, the longer I stay up drinking the more elaborate the bird gets !

Well, as Canadair owns DHC, why not use their facility to do it, eh!

But in my story, the Montréal and Mirabel plants are running full capacity producing green airframes, and they are sent to Downsview for fitting of avionics etc.

:tornado:

Captain Canada

You know, now that you mention it, it probably does make sense to have them made in Europe, and then sent here for the final fitting out.

Maybe a trip back and forth in a good old CL-44 ?

In my story, they got them right during the petrol crisis in the 70's, since they were trying to dump what they had.

So yes, CL-44 or even better, AirCan DC-8 powered with Conways!

Captain Canada

suffering from my usual bout of AMS on this one.....want to add 2 or three bays, hose and drogue unit, MAD, sonobuoy launchers, AAR probe, open up doors and hatches etc etc.

Maybe I should just build the darn thing OOB !

I think you should!

I'll be having B-1s to act as bombers, since the US recently retired some, Boeing decided to offer them to the Northern neighbour!

Captain Canada

...and since the Navy planes are just on loan from the RCAF, I guess they wouldn't have mods as such........

Actually Ol they were offered to the RAF and RAAF in 2002 by Boeing, but rejected on running costs (High maintenace!!). So not that far fetched a concept. In reality of the 30 retired ones some went back to make the numbers back up from 60 to 72 and the rest went to either musuem or parts stripping to provide spares for the remaining aircraft.
