A sloop? In WW2? An actual sailing ship?  :o  They probably wore any uniforms they could get a hold of.

No, sloops were a small ship designed to fit somewhere between corvettes (also a sailing ship in earlier times) & destroyers.

A typical example is the Black Swan class (which Airfix really need to get off their arse & produce in 1/350!);

HMS Black Swan ca. 1945

Although I should probably point out that there were, in fact, civilian sailing sloops still active at the beginning of WW2 & several of them were requisitioned for military use.

A half way house  ;D

The thing that gets me about the photo is how young they all look, my dad included and he would of been 21 in 1943. A couple of them still look like "boy sailors" which I'm not sure if the RN were still recruiting during the War ? In one of the other photos the oldest member looks like the ship's cat !

In the meantime, & back onto the build, this gives an idea of where I'll be going with the pilot house & guns;

Full steam ahead & damn the torpedoes!   ;D

Looking good! Something about that pilot house is screaming out to me for a lick of blue paint and a light on top...
Perfect is the enemy of Finished. I presume. I've never achieved either.

Did Daleks have skeletons ? Or were they just that "rubbery" mass that the Dr pulled out of one in a very early episode ?  ;D

Movement is happening!

Puttying. Sanding. Repeat. Primer. Some of the first top-coat painting.

Nothing worthy of photo's.
