So, what crew members seat on the other seats ?

That interior colour is gorgeous! Leads me to picture the glorious men and women of the PDRV with big lapels and wide trousers legs and huge sunglasses smoking cigarettes in holders in the belly of the thing.
Perfect is the enemy of Finished. I presume. I've never achieved either.

The interior is Vallejo 70.808 Blue Green Matt.  My go to for Russian cockpit green.  And I am sure someone is now going to nit some picks and tell me that Russian cockpit green didn't become a thing until the fifties.  Only in real life mate.

Wikipaedia says crew of 11.  The kit has eight figures.  Pilot, co-pilot, nose gunner, mid upper gunner, two nacelle gunners, tail gunner, and a spare figure not used in this release.
If we nominate the spare figure as the bomb aimer (and put him in the seat in the nose  then that leaves three crew unallocated (and three spare seats).  So maybe navigator, radio operator, and yes, commissar.

I began gluing the fuselage halves today.  Back half first.  It's a mess of clamps, clothes pegs and tape but I think it's lined up OK (or it was when I went to work)...

Thanks

I must admit Soviet WWII interior colours are a minefield. I use White Ensign and they have at least 4 different shades for cockpits and wheel wells etc

So no-one will know if its "wrong"... ;)

I managed to get to the shed after work and glued the front of the fuselage.

Fuselage is now glued completely and I am working on adding those clear parts which have to be in place and masked (I have a masking set) before painting.
Then the wings and tails can be attached and then masking and then PSR will commence.

Got back to this today but realistically I am not going to finish by 7th.  Or even by 14th should a second extension be granted.   ;)
I haven't even got the wings on yet and then there will be PSR - albeit light as the fit is pretty good.

So, if you could move it please Chris.   To the Aircraft section.

Printers!  They seem to have a mind of their own sometimes.
I'm trying to print the transfers for this build and I am struggling.  I've cut and pasted designs from previous sheets i've created and the colours are refusing to print as they look on the screen.  Everything is greyed down.  They are supposed to be yellow stars on a black circle with a blue surround and blue bars but instead I am getting Yellowey grey and bluey grey.
It is very frustrating.  Since I last printed these designs I have changed software as micro$oft wanted me to pay more money to install powerpoint onto a new laptop even though I would be stopping using it on the old one.  I am now using Libre Office which is free but obviously handles colour differently.
It's something to do with the draw function as if I print images downloaded from the interweb the colours are accurate.
I shall dig into the settings to see what I can find.  I've got time.  I haven't even got the wings on this thing yet.

That's the committee that decides who gets the six parachutes allocated by the latest five-year plan.

Transfers are printed.
The printer was having a problem with the yellow parts of the designs I have drawn up).  It was as though it was shading them with black.
So, I redesigned the roundels to not include the yellow stars.  Backstory will be adjusted to explain (change to PDRV roundels requested by other nations involved in Op Downfall for clearer aircraft recognition.  Or something).

Got to the bench today.  attached the cockpit canopy.  Fit needed to be adjusted by trimming the port mating surface.  The clear parts are moulded from softer than usual styrene.

Cockpit canopy consists of two pieces.  The windscreen and the rest.  Yesterday I glued on the rest.  Offering up the windscreen today it was obvious that it will need fettling to fit.
I have a masking set for this which I suspect I will be glad for (although I detest masking as I may have mentioned once or twice).
