This looks fantastic! And somehow, it looks more plausible than the real Saint-Chamond...
Perfect is the enemy of Finished. I presume. I've never achieved either.

Back from the OS trip, with a small bit of intensive activity while transitting Dubai. Flying Emirates was a great idea 9 months ago.

Took a few days, but back on the tools. Getting some paint on the Steam Tank

Still work in progress but at least some progress shots

Cool! I'm liking those colours, especially the "anti-fouling red" lower hull!   ;D

Coming along very nicely

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Thanks

Outside of base or no base... this is done(ish), a couple of glitchs to fix from the photos around some of the weathering that does not quite work.

Weathered up a bit with some pigments (how old school  ;D) and some of the newer weathering products. Trying to remember that this is 1/48 not 1/35 so things have to be smaller.
Tracks went on rather well. One thing I did modify was to shorten the gun as I decided for 1/48 it was too long
The rather fitting name decals came from the Takom Mk1 Male Tank

All in all, this works for me and ticks the right boxes for my sensibilities for this, considering it is blatantly obvious what the base model is.

Thanks for the support

Works for me, too!

Who cares if the base model is obvious, she still looks like her own thing, & the shortening of the gun works well, looks more "period".

It does look like a proper land ship/land cruiser. It wouldn't look out of place in a Frank Reade dime novel

That's great Bri.

Love it.  You met your brief.

Now, looking at your pics i'm wanting to see a troop carrying version.  No gun, but a couple, or three hinged ramps that could be slammed down over trenches or barbed wire before disgorging the goggled up horde...

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

I like the concept of a model being 'done(ish)'.  ;D

As for the model itself, well, WOWEEE! I can almost HEAR it wheezing and spurting out columns of steam as it staggers over the trenches etc. It's got 'atmosphere'.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Maybe the troop carrying version could carry 4 or 5 cavalry for advanced reconnaissance once the initial trench lines are cleared  ;)

Yes!  Even betterer.  Wide central ramp for the toffs on the nags, PBI on smaller ramps to the side.

Is it finished, or are there still small adjustments to come?

Consider it done. Just maybe, I might post an "on base picture" but I have seen something else shiny, so moved on  ;D
