I have had a steam driven Land ship on the back burner for a long time.  Just been trying to find the shape I like.

Using this kit is great and it is coming along wonderfully.

Really think the driver should have a big Ships Wheel for steering.

Thanks folks.

So, the sit and ponder lead to most of the bling going. A few bits are still there to add a bit of glam around.

So here we are in a first primer to stitch it together

Added a semaphore system and a ladder to get up to the yet to be found/fitted pioneer tools or something

So now I have a month away to ponder colours. Grey is a bit boring, maybe a bit of a splash of colour
Maybe look at period traction engines for inspiration

Old Wombat

The colour scheme on that tractor looks very good, a couple of dark greens with gold (yellow) & red highlights.

Would fit a steampunk landship perfectly!

Green would be too close to a sensible military scheme.  I'd go for Scarlet or maybe Maroon with gold leaf pin-striping.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Black, rusty as hell, skull-and-crossbones badly daubed and also flyin' the flag?
Cheers.

Maybe a similar dark green to the steam tractor but with a large national flag painted onto the sides ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Black with gold and red trim?

British Railways Brunswick green  with orange and black lining.   Trailers to be painted "blood and custard" colours as  per BR coaches.

That is outstanding ! Love the look. Imagine seeing that come walking out of the sea !

It may be a bit late, but would some of the filigree stickers you can get, suitably modified and stuck onto the sides do the job?

I like the WWI multi color camos.

And the black lines between colors... A parade machine should be more colorful and clean- there is a place for that!

I tend to build my models as if they've been cleaned up for some "high up's" official visit. Mainly because I'm useless at weathering

Weathering is a faff to get it to look realistic. Most look "Oh, someone's done some weathering effects on their model" rather than "That's a model of a world-weary old beast." I did a couple, because in the backstory they had been built in a hurry from written-off wrecks. Never again! My next backstory had the scavenged wings and tail* thoroughly refurbished.

* Not that I'm suggesting this steamer needs wings and a tail.** ;D

** On the other hand...
Cheers.

That is a sight to see.  Wonderful!
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.
