My physical health is getting better but now the mojo is 0.1%. And, of course, there is very little left to be done. Soon, whenever the mojo returns, I can get the last bits done.

I've been working on some details for this. The Pinto has four rectangular turn signal/driving lights between the headlights and the grill. Any car guys got any suggestions to make this look decent?

I'm afraid paint would look like, you know, paint.

Well, an old trick is to mix white and silver. But it's still paint.
But you could put that (or just plain silver) on the underside of some clear plastic - I'd suggest bits of CD case - and that could look ok?

When i've got a kit with chrome headlights I paint the lenses with pearl white lacquer which is at airbrushing consistency.

If I had to make these i'd cut clear plastic big enough to  between the headlamp recess and the grille and then mask off for the lights.  If you can find some clear with texture then put that on the inside.  Paint the area behind the lights (not the back of the clear) with chrome paint.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.
