At times it's hard to find the half round exacto blades around here. Don't know why.
Well just be more careful please!

I've scrubbed the dirt off the old frame and extra parts. I glue together a few parts that broke off handling it. I used the ultrasonic knife to cut off the inside front fenders and a molded on exhaust pipe. That thing cuts like butter. For thicker plastic it actually starts to melt it. It's a nice tool to have.

I'm the opposite. I can empathise with the pain & problems caused by an injury, but I have a fascination for the mechanics & details of injuries .... but, then, I was raised by a GP & a RN.

Well i did take a high def pic of it if ya want a copy bud ,,weirdly it was one of the first things i did when its stopped bleeding ,,which was all of about a minute
To me and blokes like Guy we've seen injuries which will make this look like a tiny booboo on ya finger ,,it's never freaked me out at anytime ..i have seen some stuff where your first thought is DAMN!!!

Strangely Ken,, the odd ball knife blades are quite easy to find here ,, we've got a company here called Gordon Harris ,it's a art supply store and where i get my Swann Morton blades from ..yet they don't have No11 blades ,,i got those from a garden supply company called The Growshop  :o
Gordon Harris has a rather large selection of blades but so do many of the model shops here ..as ya know the ol No11 blades are the most used model knife blade on the planet and i have wondered sometimes just how many of those blades are made and used each year ..it's got to be a very large number i'll bet .

Historically IME, the Number 10 has always been hardest to find, closely followed by the Number 11.
Then the shops get a resupply and everyone descends on them...  ;D

I've gone to an xacto-style handle, for the #11s anyway, especially as I tend to snap more Swann Morton blades than I blunt... though I still use the the SM #10; go figure. *shrug*

And the random places we can sometimes find things, someone has to be having a laugh...

Considering how cheap the packs of Swann Morton blades are and there's 5 blades in a pack they are my go to for curved blades ,,super sharp and brilliant for those tight annoying places i like to get myself into when building something .... also there No4 sized blades and super useful ,,especially their No26 long blades ,,the No 24 blades for the No4 handles are great too .. as you'd might imagine mate ,,i've got crap loads of these blades ,,i've go em filling half of a box which used to hold a Roundhouse productions 40' 3 bay hopper offset side rail car .. the other side is also full of blades too  ;)
Tell ya one blade which i now find i can't do without is the No15 curved blade for the No3 handle .. mate if ya aint got any do yourself a favour ,,these are brilliant

I haven't done any more on this as I want to get the Assault Gun Sherman finished first. However, I keep finding things that are missing or broken from the old truck kit I was going to use. I have a new truck kit that will probably be pressed into service to solve several problems.
Now, I haven't actually started building anything yet so if someone wants to start a crazy whiff truck GB, now's your chance! Any scale, any time period, military or civilian. There actually was a movie called "Space Truckers", so there's that too.

I've got the space truckers movie on a hard drive and one i haven't watched in ages but still remember it well 😉
I wasn't expecting ya to get into this build to fast mate ..but this thread is a good place for ideas and yep I'm already thinking about ideas but as I'm dont have any 24th/25th scale trucks I'd have to look at 35th and yep I do have some goodies in that area 😉 😊

I gave up and ordered some on Amazon.   #10 blades.
The Leng Plateau is lovely this time of year

I just started buying them wherever I found them. Now I have a stockpile. When I went back to collage in 2010 the bookstore sold off their art supplies. I bought all the #11s they had. I'm still using them.

If I do what I'm thinking of I'll have two of the same cabs left over. A four door semi tractor limo is creeping into my brain. In black of course. With an elaborate stairway so the ladies can enter and exit comfortably.

Sounds like a Plan! We look forward to the madness build starting.

I got a pack of 50 or 100 from Ali, so I'm set for the foreseeable... especially as I keep using the things long after they should be replaced...  ;D

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Me four ...in most cases to within a mm of theirs lives ,,, me being me i need the blades to be as sharp as possible ,,just so much easier to cut with and make very fine adjustments ,,but when the blade is not longer sharp enough then it becomes a scraping blade and so on and so forth ,,, one big problem i do come across more than i would like is blunt blades ,, especially Xcel ones ,, i don't buy mine as packets of 5 like a lot of blokes do ,,i  get em either in packs of 100 ( #11) or as singles ,, Stocker models sells em out of a pack of 100 and it's much cheaper to my 20 blades than a pack of 5 when you do the math .
But for quite some time now i've had to check which blades are sharp and which are totally blunt ,,and i do mean blunt ,it's like the blade has been shaped but not sharpened ,,a old trick i use to test how sharp a blade is is to run it lightly over my thumb nail ..if you can feel it cutting then its very sharp ,,if it just glides over the nail then it's blunt and man some of these feel like i'm using the back of the blade they're that bad ...so now James at stockers checks every blade he sells just because of this problem ,,man i miss X-acto blades ,, they where stronger and stayed sharper for so much longer too .

While driving on the expressway today I think I found the perfect car/cab for the Schinibblemobil. This would make it closer to the original German version.

A 2000-2003 Ford Taurus station wagon. The problem is I can only find a kit of the '89 Sedan. Any suggestions? There was a resin body shell of the station wagon but that seems to be as scarce as hen's teeth. I'll keep looking otherwise it will be the Pinto.
Any chance someone has a cop style light bar for the top of the Pinto?
