OOK then ,, i've been attacking the front gun turret as i didn't get a good vibe about the look of it ,,i'd have to widen the fuse so much i would be nuts and the blockiness of it buggered up the lines of the 17 very nicely ,,,so i changed it ,,,now this thing has three ball turrets  :wacko:

Now i know i'd have to lower it but that wouldn't fix how much wider i'd have to make the fuse ...so here's the start of the new turret .

As ya can see the turret has full movement ...you guy's know me well enough by now ,,course it had t move all proper like  :wacko:
Now here it is getting very close to finishing ..still a wee bit more PSR to go but not much .

I can see that making the nose parallel just to fit the turret would make it look very un-B-17-like. Your solution looks to have worked very well Phil.  :thumbsup:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The nose turret looks great! Almost like a bulldog with the lower jaw jutting out.

The wings are now glued in place and tomorrow i'll do a bit of reinforcing on the underside as there's a gap between the wing and it's mount ..well the section of the B-24 fuselage where the wings mount anyway  ;D

You can clearly see what i mean eh? ,,its just not and wouldn't look good that's for sure so yep i'm very happy with this new turret  :thumbsup:

Dude now i want to call or give it a name ,,Bulldog would be a very cool name for this and mate there's now way i could paint that by hand so ,,well bugger  :lol:

Maybe print it out and do some careful scalpel work to make a stencil for spraying?

Not having a printer will make that a wee bit of a problem  ;D
I've got a heap of decals which or hopefully might have something of use 🤔.

Might be mate but what bulldog pic ain't ? .... makes no never mind anyway as they aint gonna know and there's nothing they can do anyway ,,it's not copy writed annnnd nobody else is gonna know to ...besides that ,,its a cool pic but to work on my plane it will need to be reversed ,,I'm mounting its name on the left side of the fuse ,,there's no windows there  ;D

Nope ..I haven't forgotten about this  ;D
I've been slowly plugging away with this build...so the landing gear is nearly completely done ..a wee bit more work but not much .
I also spent hours today getting all the turrets masked for priming  and man that was a mission but I got em done  ;D
Very soon paint will hit this monster 👻  :thumbsup:
