This is coming along rather nicely sir

Somehow my brain sees it with an open top and an interior full of radio equipment, operators and the odd general or two somewhere on Sailsbury Plain in the mid thirties
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

What are the rivets made of and where did you get them from please Brian.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

Injected plastic, from Tichy Train group. Tichy Train Website
I got my last bundle from Casula Hobbies outside of Sydney, sadly they are no more.
However I did find this mob who appear to have them. Come in various sizes.
https://www.australianmodeller.com.au/search?q=tichy+train Of course available at various retailers around the planet.
There is also another producer called Grandt Line who have different stuff, but does have some rivets and bolt heads.
This is all Model Train stuff, some really great products in that space that is available for models of any genre

More on the way during the final build phases  ;)

Grandt Line do pretty good stuff. I've used some of theirs on my American N Gauge layout, top quality.

Ssame same ,,,i\ve use hundreds of their nuts and bolts over the yrs ,,used to able to buy them here with zero problems and then like a heap of things here ,,just vanished an never seen here again ....I bet if i looked i wouldn't find em ,,,Hell it' like the Meng sets of nuts and bolts sets...when we see em we scoop em up like their gold  ;D

Brian matey that is gonna sweet ,,well more sweeter than it already does

As for click together tracks ,,man it's so hit and miss with those even from the same manufactures ...there's like this hidden like trick to clicking them together which nobody talks about and  when you find it's a great thing ,,but finding it ,,thats then click together becomes indi links ,,,I've guled together more click together tracks than i've clicked  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Australian Modeller have a minimum postage charge of $15.  Excessive for a $6 packet of tiny rivets so i'm giving then a miss as I don't want anything else.
I had a look and it struck me that trains as a hobby ain't cheap.

They never were, if you actually wanted ones that ran OK, but these days it's getting REALLY silly!  :banghead:

I guess its a hobby for people who own property or can at least afford to hire a space to build their layout in.
I was very taken with an HO Plasser P&C Tamper with operating features and sound effects (my first job with BR was in the Civil Engineering Plant Section).  But $1000!!

Gondor

A few years ago I went to a railway model show in Scotland. The prices of even the second hand stuff was quite expensive, let alone the new stuff. I did buy things at the show, tools, they are great shows for that.
My Ability to Imagine is only exceeded by my Imagined Abilities

Gondor's Modelling Rule Number Three: Everything will fit perfectly untill you apply glue...

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

That needs a General in a deckchair on the roof being served tiffin while watching exercises.

That's why I model in N Gauge, my layout's only 13'6" x 2' at most.
