I didn't really have a blog under my old name well not for years. So here is the new one.... Just some random modelling related jottings.

First off would the FAA seriously look at an anglicised FA18 for a suitably adapted Queen Elizabeth class carrier?

I think EDSG would look good on a Super Hornet.

In some Alternate Universe the RN never gave up on CTOL carriers! ;)

Funny you should say that....  ;)

Charlie_C67 that looks good. Mine will get ASRAAM and Storm Shadows.

Today's modelling also has a naval theme.... Xtrakit 1/72 Saunders Roe SRA-1. Going for an ocean grey finish on top with aluminium undersides and BPF markings. More work on this tomorrow.

PR19_Kit

A nice kit that SRA/1. Needed longer wings though, so I added some.  ;D

BPF sounds good Trev. Would work for the Op Downfall GB if it gets the go ahead (be a bit late for your build though)
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

There was quite a lot of artwork circulated around the new aircraft carriers with the Hornet on the flight deck.

Decent kit yup, but I was surprised at just how large and ugly the thing was.

Did mine as Greek.

PR19_Kit

It sure is big, but they wanted long range and it had two fuel hungry engines of the time.

After the palaver of losing a float, the missing one turned up this morning. The kit parts to attach float to wings are awful so I am going to replace what's here with some old Aeroclub foil struts using the slots on the floats. I have also added some Paragon 100 gallon wing tanks for the Mosquito to the wings.

Good to see the wayward float returned home, Trevor!

I read your post but I don't have much in 1/72 scale, let alone anything with floats.

I was very relieved.

The completed work on the struts for the wing floats. Wasn't too fiddly to do in the end. Also one of the wing tanks visible.

That float retraction system is a work of................I'm not sure if it's genius or craziness, but it's pretty clever.  ;D
