Hmmm, M3A3 plus Flakvierling.  Me likey.
I have a 1/48 M5 and now a reason to buy a 1/48 Flakvierling.
Thank you.

Here's where the Trimmer is at.  Tracks on and today I added the 'guards, steps and additional armour.  Also started a figure (nothing fancy, just a Tamiya one frankensteined from bits of the five in the kit and a resin hand).

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

In service with/converted by Tito's Partisans.
They also had versions with PaK-40s mounted.

HTH

I built that version donkeys yrs ago Rick ..all Tamiya bits ..not my best work by a very long margin...the Tamiya M5 wasn't the best but that Pak40 is bloody terrible...would build another one but AFV Clubs M5 is stupid expensive 😳 🙄
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Yeah, they always were.
But it's based on an M3A3... not sure if they're any cheaper, though...  :-\

When I built mine I was in my teens . So so many moons ago now and I'm pretty sure I was deep into wiffy world already by then so if it looked close that was good enough..and also ..I'd have no idea what model M3 it was  ;D

So, who spotted I have glued the forward suspension units on back to front?

I didn't, until today.  Kit's second rule will be applied.  Something to do with revised geometry better suited to the increased all up weight.

Mind you, IMO it looks better with them that way round.

Today I was mostly painting fiddley bits - stowage, ammo boxes, tools etc.

Luckily the 2nd Rule is immutable, and it works EVERY time, as you've just so aptly demonstrated.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Well I overlooked it for sure, I do find your idea around the reversed mounting to help with weight distribution quite sound.. beefed up springs etc etc. Unsure if the trackwarping steering would be affected.. but meh.. it still looks good
