Do tell us non-Ozs more about that please Fred.

'92 Bathurst was a wet race and cars were crashing left right and centre.  The Skyline was in the lead but hit a wall damaging the steering.  It was limping back to the pits when it went off the road altogether.
But the race had been stopped while the Skyline was in the lead and Skaife and Richards were awarded the win.  The feral Ford/Holden fans didn't like a non-australian car winning and booed.  Richards, whose mate Denny Hulme had died of a heart attack during the race, stood on the balcony overlooking the pitlane and looking down on them booing said "I'm just really stunned for words, I just can't believe the reception.  I thought Australian race fans had a lot more to go than this. This is bloody disgraceful. I'll keep racing but I'll tell you what, this is going to remain with me for a long time.  You're a pack of arseholes.".

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Oh yes, I remember Denny dying in a Bathurst Race, so sad, but didn't know the race was notorious for those chants and the speech as well.

Thanks Fred.

Sad to see him go; but it was at the wheel, in a race, so not a bad way to end...

In On-Topic News, I got 5 sets of heads from Ali y'day:

2X WW2 US Tankers
1X WW2 German with M43 cap
1X WW2 Commonwealth with Beret
1X WW2 'Short back and sides'.

All very nice and will prove useful.
As long as I remember to use them on the appropriate sized figures... isn't it funny* how many differently-sized interpretations of '1/35 heads' there can be...

(* I say 'Funny', when I really mean 'Annoying and Frustrating', of course...)

Wargames figure's manfacturers idea of 15mm/20mm/25mm could be a tad frustrating as well

What's '2 in 1' about the Herk kit? Do you get TWO Herks in the same box?

Even if the height's right, the proportions are often cartoonish, with oversized heads, feet and hands and "balloon animal" guns. Put a Wargames figure next to a Modelling figure and the latter look positively anorexic.

Probably the ability to build one of either of two sub-variations of the C-130H - if you look at the Herc's in the box art one looks like it's got the 8-scimitar-bladed props, while the other has the older 4-square-tip-bladed props.

Ah right, thanks. I only just noticed the other one lurking down in the bottom left hand corner.  :banghead:

Well, I have the advantage of having the boxes for my M55 quad gun mounts on the desk in front of me which quite clearly state "2in1", meaning I can build either the WW2 variant or the Vietnam era variant, but not both out of the one kit.

Yes, they should say "One or the other " and not 2-in-1 lol.

The thing that annoys me is the current vogue for making the figures 8X heads' height, rather than the old, correct 7.5X... laziness, as it's an easier amount to divide, but it makes for either Pin-Head figures, or undersized ones.
And the potential issues if I use an 8X head on a 7.5X body (or v/v)... hence having to be careful with my Mix'n'Match Frankenfigures.
Yes, we are all differently-proportioned, but there are limits.

I haven't bought Wargames figures for over 30 years, and mine were all either ancients or horse and musket eras, the proportions were fine, it was the difference in height which was the issue. You couldn't mix different manufacturers in the same unit and they even looked wrong with different manufacturers on the same table. The only "good" thing was that their were very few manufacturers.
