Are those CFTs a real thing or just something in the Ace Combat game?

They are a real thing for the Block III aircraft. Later Block II aircraft and well as the Block III can have an IRST mounted in the centerline fuel tank as well.

That's correct, i believe.
They also have the option for the enclosed weapons pods. And the tech demonstrator bird had what was probably just a mock-up of an EOTS sensor under the nose for the Block III. Both the EWP and EOTS below.

Cheers - good to know. I don't keep up with the latest stuff as much as I used to...

Just back from the OS trip USA to Japan via Alaska

Had a short time in Tokyo to hit a few shops.
Not as much as perhaps I would have got on previous trips, a bit time and space constrained.
Enough to move on with though.
The Tamiya PlaFactory shop in Shimbashi provided what I considered a well well priced (compared to Aust retail shops) M3 Scout car. The Black Label Saladin, from one of the boutique shops, Leonardo ET was cost effective and now hard to get enough to make the purchase worthwhile. Saladin with Scorpion/Scimitar or Rarden turret is the current thinking.
Besides... now Airfix will probably release one  :banghead:
Other bits were some tools and some Wave plastic forms, Hex and a nice set of tapering bits of round section.

From Daiso, these nifty grabbers and the guitar were Y100, so good as $1 AUD.. so grabbed a few of the grabber kits.

The postman has just delivered this from the Big H. It's very nice indeed. Lots of spare bits and I foresee getting the bomber variant soon.

I've the night fighter version on the "next in line for building" pile. Does look nice
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
