Ah, right. I've seen resin parts in the past that had wire "reinforcement". I'd asssumed it was purely because the resin part was so thin and might break. Didn't realise it was a chracteristic.

My Lift Here kit of the Short Sealand amphibian is all resin, and it has wire reinforcements in all three of its landing gear legs. I guess they learned a lesson from their early mouldings.......

The gun barrel of my  1/35 M51 conversion has a massive brass rod embedded - which it would need...

I think the 3D printed resin that the .50cal feed chutes are made of has beaten me ... For the moment.

It takes more effort than ordinary polymer resin to bend &, when it does, it can take two or three re-heats with it clamped into position before the bends to hold.

Then woe-betide you if any heat gets near the bent area again, as it flicks straight back to being straight!  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

So, tomorrow later today, I'm going to clean up the workspace, put the PBRs aside, & find something else to build, a plane, which fits into my vehicle/watercraft/aircraft cycle.

Good idea - put it away before you wreck it by trying too many times, or hurling it against a wall.

It'll still be there later, and you may have inspiration strike in the interim. Works for me, anyway.

I have a Revell 1/72 Arado (E) 555 in the Wombat Stashâ„¢ that I've wanted to convert into a 1/48 Frankenthing using a couple of 1/48 Tamiya F4D-1s for ages, but I only have one F4D-1 & it appears they've been discontinued, which means getting a replacement for the one I have is going to be ... Problematic.

The reason I needed two was because the huge wing of the Ar 555 demands more power than a single engine can provide.  (Obviously!  )

So, I bought an extra Panavia Tornado (Italeri) & another Sepecat Jaguar (Heller) to check the Arado wings against.  (As one does.  ;) )

At the moment the Jaguar has the nod, but, as it will be a while before I start this build, things could change because the Tornado looked pretty good, too.

So, no firm decision there. I thought you should all know that!  ;D  ;D  ;D

Isn't it frustrating when the kit you buy for parts fires off neurones that inspire something new.
The solution is obvious - always buy two of everything...

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.

The problem is that a blog is a virtual reality construct;  therefore, I'm only able to supply a virtual Victoria sponge cake as produced by Madame Rheged.

Good enough!

Thank you, sir! And please pass on my gratitude to Madame Rheged for her virtual efforts!

Or should that be Virtually Grateful?  ;)

Congrats on the Anniversary, Guy.
