You don't need ME to give you ideas Trevor!  ;D ;D ;) ;)

I take that as a complement Kit.

Might have something whacky up my sleeve [if I can be bothered to do some decaling later] for SMW2019 with four engines and NOT by Handley Page either.

Today from Glasgow - very restrained!

Freightdog Supermarine 227 "Shrew"

And I can't remember the name of the trader/manufacturer, but they do a lot of commercial trucks and I found a 1968 BMC van that looks to be a dead ringer for the one used by Reegan in the Doctor Who story "The Ambassadors of Death".  However, I can't find a photo of it online.

I was wondering Wooksta are there any 1/72 Spitfire kits you are still after?  ;)

Check out IMCDB - there may be something there.

Can't find any listing for Dr Who on there, but was it one of these?

Well, actually, now you mention it...

I'm currently after a few Hasegawa mk VIII/IXc kits, mainly for my small alternate 66 Sqn theme but also to do another pair of Seafire IVc's.  I'm always on the lookout for the Airkit ones, mainly because they're such a joy to build.

Basically, I'll hoover up any of my usual build fodder if they're cheap, but that's getting harder. Or I'm getting pickier due to being past saturation point.

Definitely not that one.  It's more the size of a Transit.  I could just check the DVD but I really want to leave it until I re-watch the whole of Season 7 in a day.

Edit: it's a BMC Leyland EA440.

Aggggh, the dreaded FJ cab! The hours I spent trying to sort the doors out so they'd stay locked when they were locked!  :banghead: :banghead:

Hehehehe.  ;D

We had a test rig for that thing that was about 10 ft high so we could put loads on it from all directions. And no matter what we did the door would pop open with just a tug, no matter if it was locked or not.

It must have been the easiest truck to steal in the entire UK!

That's why you didn't need to bother about locking them.  They were so lousy to drive, no one wanted to steal one! Yes, I HAVE driven one, and it was not a life-enhancing experience.

My Airfix Motorhead He 111 arrived today courtesy of my parental kit forwarding service.
I was slightly disappointed to discover that the Motorhead transfers are white and not chrome.  However they will still look great.  Maybe someone will produce an aftermarket chrome set.

So is it the right van for the Episode ?

Aaaaaagghhhh! The EA! That was even worse than the FJ etc!  :banghead: :banghead:

They were first produced in 1968 and amazingly lasted unto the mid 80s! That may help fir it into the time period.

They were build in a factory in south Birmingham that had a very poor electricity supply, so much so that there wasn't enough available to run the required no. of spot welders, so the darn things were all RIVETED!

If you thought an FJ rattled, an EA sounded like a machine gun on smooth roads, never mind rough ones. :-\

Yes.  Just wish I could remember where I'd left my Airfix astronauts...
