I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Airfix 1/32 Fird 3 litre GT/P68

A cracking looking car.

I built one as a slot racer way back when, and saw the real thing run in the BOAC 500 at Brands Hatch in 1968.

Is the RAF Mitchell just a decal change from the USAAC one Chris?

I haven't opened the box yet Kit, want to finish the current one. However I think they've just changed the markings, although there's a fair few unused parts in the box.
Decals my @r$e!

Shame it was rubbish on the track, but made up for it in the glamour department.  I planned to bash it, but seems a shame to.  Might have to get a second one.

Yes, the Cosworth 3 litre F1 engine wasn't really suited to the sports car scene, and the aero of the F3L was dubious in the extreme. Bruce McLaren commented that the car couldn't work out whether its front end or the rear end wanted to lift the most!

Found at good prices on ebay. Couple of choppers from Fujimi and another from Academy...

Still waiting for the AFV Club F-5E Tiger III and just bought a Revell 1/32 Bell 206 Jet Ranger to complete the chopper trio from the Blue Thunder movie.

Would make a good aircraft....  Longer wings and all that! ;D

That made me wonder what it sounded like, so I looked it up on YouTube.  Glorious.

 ;D ;)

The later version had a protruding lower lip to the nose intake, which made it look REALLY mean, but didn't do much for the aerodynamics.

For sure, amongst the 'Big Banger' sports cars at the 500 you could tell when the F3l was coming along, it howled!

But it was 'out-howled' by the Howmet TX turbine car, which suffered a jammed throttle (wide open! :o) approaching Druids on only the 10th lap or so and it rammed the bank right below my feet!  :o

SWEET.    But yeah, broke now like I am, huh?   ;D      I off-loaded all my 1/48 stuff................ aside from TWO kits. They both are from the F-5 family... or should we call it the T-38 family? That's what mine are, a couple of T-38's.   Close enough.

T-38s are cool too, got one of the Trumpeter kits but that will probably be built as a RW PoAF bird... unless i decide to paint it up as an "Asas de Portugal" aerobatics display team making it half a whif...
