Had my eye on these for awhile. I not only wanted it to build but also wanted one that was complete with all the stuff in good shape. Saw this on eBay and decided to go for it. Got it for $12 after shipping which is cool! I saw one other going for (bids on it, not just asking price) MORE but wasn't remotely in this good condition. Also saw one in the same shape as mine going for $65 (asking price "buy it now")    PFfttt...  Not a whole lot of them are listed at any given time so I guess it could be a tiny bit rare but $65?  ;D ;D  Come on now....

Any how.. the transfers looked good for the most part aside from a misprint but the misprint occurred in such a way that it merely made a nice straight separation between two parts of the same decal so I can easily apply them in two pieces and just butt them together. Like I said, I want to make it like the box, so these are important.  ;D

Neato. I did a few minutes of research on this and found next to zero on not only the plane but the kit itself. I'm starting to think that the plane is fictional or something....    I searched various iterations of "Cleveland Miss" "Cleveland Miss P 51"  "MPC P-51D Clevelad Miss"  etc and didn't find a damn thing on Google. No picture or anything. I could fine a couple pictures of the box but zero of the plane or even a built up model. No reviews or previews or any other thing. I'm sure its out there, somewhere, but *I* couldn't find anything in the 20 minutes I tried.

Either way... I'll try to make it just like the box shows at some point. I believe it should be overall red and the pinkish looking areas are just the way the artist decided to paint the thing... like shading or something.. ..

Nah, paint it a good, rich pink, as per the box, but, when done, give it a coat of pearlescent clear & put boobies on the pilot. ;D

I suspect that the kit is the *original* 1950s tool Airfix kit, given their tie in with MPC in teh 60s and 70s.  And that kit is... best left for collectors.  Use the kit as a pattern but use a better modern kit.

A customising plane kit!  Cool.  What do the custom parts consist of Brad C?
Not sure what form of racing that is in the box art but judging by the leading edge the plane appears to still be armed.

Good stuff! I'll do that. I surely don't need to be making extra work for myself trying to polish a turd.  Thanks for the tip!! I just so happen to know where to get wonderfully building and CHEAP P 51s all day long. They lack in certain detail but the overall outside appearance is just fine and it goes together really easy.

Yeah!! Pretty neat, huh!  I like it. I have the box on display now.  ;D

For some reason they count the stand as one of the bonuses.  ;D  I have more like it and looking at the instructions you can link them all together to make displays.

The next "bonus" are on the transfer sheet. They give you extra lil flowers and stuff to go on it. "Sassy Sue" a bucking mule on a delta, etc.

Last bonus are the 'chrome' parts.  ;D  Some of these don't even go on the lane, obviously, but I do plan to use the prop and spinners on the build when I do it. Now, I'm not sure, but some of these extra chrome pieces look like space alien laser guns, some look like maybe a poor mans MG, I see a radio antenna and some exhaust manifold looking stuff....  etc.. shrug.. lol

I also see something that appear to be rubber wheels (the little black things there) and it came with a clear disc with a hole in the middle I suppose meant to be a spinning prop but the diameter is WAY too big.   :o ;D

1970... ..  ;D

I saw another MPC kit one time that I'm reminded of that also came with weird flower type transfers and other things. An F-111. I'd like to get it, too, some day.

Looks like a hedgehog exhaust from a Beaufighter in the top right corner of the chrome sprue.

Chrome parts is an excellent addition.  Would have got me buying it when I was 14.
I think my next zenrat industries "fast courier" may have to have some chrome parts on it.

The mule on the decal sheet looks like it is "bucking" a Starfleet logo.

They used the same chrome sprue in all of that series.

Kingfisher box, you can see the chrome parts shown on the side of the box:

It begs the question, how would judges at a show react if one built one up with all the chrome parts custom decals and entered it in the OOB class?

Somehow I can't imagine a Stuka with a chrome prop.  ;D

But Goering would have loved it I'm sure!

If the judges follow the rules correctly, and they should otherwise what's the point of the judging standards,
it wouldn't be an issue because all the bits are in the box, how it's painted and blinged-up is irrelevant.

I can tell you for sure that at the IPMS-Seattle show it wouldn't be an issue.

There are firms that do simulated dogfighting flights using various gun simulation systems and smoke pots.
Something similar could be used, so you're not actually killing people, destroying aircraft, and whatever may
be below.

Sort of an SCA melee round in the sky.
