At coordinates 49°28'36.1"N 6°00'23.1"E in the town of Kayl, Luxembourg, there is a memorial to an Airspeed Oxford crew who were killed while transiting to Klagenfurt, Austria, in the employ of Hunting Aerosurveys.

Another one in the wilds of Newfoundland. I first toured this one around 2000.

Great, thanks!  I was scrolling up and down that road and looking at clearings last night, but gave up.

Thanks, both of you.  Most of the newer entries on the map are memorials and markers for sites like this.  I feel like there are many more out there, and most museums and gate guards are covered.

This video just came up in my facebook feed. It appears that the memorial "On Freedom's Wings" has been completed. Google satellite view still shows just the supports at: 53.128455477478354, -0.7214169953895698

Sure has, my daughter and son-in-law went there a short while ago and said it's AWESOME.

Removal/relocation to update. The Tornado that was acting as a gate guardian in Lower Arncott, Oxfordshire is no longer there. I believe it got moved to the old Sarum air museum near Salisbury.

Oh yeah, Arncott Depot, which has the most amazing length of 'unknown railway' in the country. There's MILES of track stashed away there, and more sheds than you can shake a stick at.  :o

They wanted us do some tests on bits of their track that was sunk into the concrete while I was at BR, and we all had to get MoD clearance just to be allowed through the gate!  :o
