After seeing https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=53346.msg1057284#msg1057284
I stared thinking of making a 72nd scale Arrow into a 144the scale heavy bomber. I thought I had a couple of vac kits to scavenge parts from, but I can only find one. I know I have some half built Arrows floating around somewhere, so you never know !

Watching WSBK and modelling. Perfect Sunday morning ! I'm making a VC.10 in landing configuration. I cut out the flaps individually so I could keep all the housings in place. I will add a strip of sheet styrene after to fill the voids and make it look like one piece. One of the nicest looking machines on approach if you ask me. Like a giant naval fighter jet !

A very elegant looking aeroplane, the VC10.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

When working at YYZ Toronto I once had the singular pleasure(?) of seeing one parked beside an Ilyushin Il-62. The difference were... striking. One was smooth, graceful, ready to take to the skies with class and elegance.

The other was an Il-62.  ;D

Love it!

I was at Copenhagen Airport on one occasion and there was an Interflug Il-62 parked on the end stand of the terminal arm I was waiting in. Suddenly there was a SERIOUS bang outside and everyone rushed to the window only to see the Il-62 sitting on its tail with the nose about 30 ft up in the air! Someone had forgotten to deploy that tail strut they had fitted.  :banghead:

It took some weeks to a) get it back down and b) repair it before they managed to fly it off again.

I had one of these as a kid. Maybe around 1977 or 78 would be my guess. I was playing outside with it, as we had hard dirt in our front yard that made a perfect place to play cars. We had to leave for some reason, and I left my stuff outside for my friends to continue playing. When we got home, this was done, as well as my prized possession, my Leopard Recovery Tank. Live and learn.

Fast forward to this week : I bought this in town as a set for 40 CDN dollars. Beat to shreds and missing pieces, but at least I have it again !

im fairly certain a look on e-bay looking for Dinky parts will bring up replacements, The 28mm wargamers folks use them for Spy-Fi and simler styles  and i am certain i saw at least one stall selling them at  a toy fair i went too.  so if do want to do it up it is certainly doable.
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront

That rings a vague bell, I might have had one as well. I think it may have been my brother, hence the recollection is a bit fuzzy.

Captain Canada

I'm going to use brass rod as the axle replacements, and hopefully source some decent wheels from a cheap Chinese toy car from the dollar store.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.  Revelling in numptytism.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed, badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry.
